Not old, but too old to be in the club
I have been on horror, com a year today so as a treat heres a random thread.
… Is there an age at which you’re over the hill to be in a bar / club, or at least certain kinds of bars / clubs or is age just a state of mind? |
im not sure theres a certain age, but i know theres a certain look
if u look too old, dont go. no for real, too homely, too ugly, too trashy. just stay home unles of course its a ugly, homely, trashy club. but what im sayin, is some 30 yr olds look 30, some look 20, then some look striaght up 40. so yeh, its more like what age you LOOK than what ur age really is so maybe im superficial, whatever, but it just looks odd having some fogeys rockin with the youngins. i know i dont want to talk to them. HAHAH, suck! |
Is it worse to see old men in the club or old women or do you get put off by both Gren?
|
iono. its hard to say. im only 20 and most the clubs are 21+. i go down to TJ (i forget im one of the only ones in CA, TJ is Tijuana, Mexico) and yeh, no oldies there
but i think id hafto say the old women. why? cuz normally men dress properly, whereas women like to think they are young and will dress so, even though they got lotsa....... ya know. gross stuff :(. |
i think you'd first have to ask yourself why you're there ..
Personally i only ever go to see live bands - and thats never a problem .. the other places .. i dont know what i'd be doing in them ..i'd be bored out of my skull |
mingle, dance, freak....
:) |
For me 25 was when i started getting out of touch with what was current, i.e) music, clothes etc, social life in general...Ironically this was when i had my oldest daughter, lol.

Like urgeok, I go to clubs for the live music. My brother's son plays drums in a local band and I'm always going to the shows. Its mostly a young crowd but I'm at an age where I really don't give a shit what anybody thinks about me. Besides I really like the music. Times are a bit different now. When I was in my 20s you would never see anybody our parents age at the clubs, but I grew up on rock & roll and I still like it.
I guess what I'm saying is it depends what your going to the clubs for. If I was a forty something year old looking to pick up hot young chicks........heehee...that made even me laugh...then maybe I would look a bit pathetic, but I'm a happily married forty something year old just there for the tunes. Plus the fact that the wife is usually with me......the beeotch is cramping my style...how am I suppose to score. Happy anniversary feral. |
This was a spiderweb for me...I had to answer...
Hmm...Let's see... Kim is 54 years old: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...Rayne/Kim1.jpg Christoph is 40 years old: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...Christoph1.jpg You all know Sergio, he is 33 years old...I am 36 years old...We all hang out at the same clubs...The people we hang out with are 19-54 (Kim is the oldest person I know), with the MAJORITY of people being between 30 and 40.....We all have a good time...Age is irrelevant....You don't have to be any certain age to hang out with friends and have fun...The main reason we go is just to get together, dance, see the bands, and laugh:) |

We don't feel 'pathetic' AT ALL...In fact...We're all VERY happy ;) :p Age is irrelevant |
