Help with Movie title?
 

I've been digging through movie databases trying to find a movie title for an old ghost story I saw years ago. I've
been looking for this title for some years now to no avail. Would appreciate any help.

This story involves an artist who takes up residence in a remote rooming house - presumably on vacation - and falls in love with a woman staying there. In the end, the woman turns out to be a ghost and the rooming house the man was staying in had been leveled years before he arrived to stay there.. making the place a phantom in and of itself.

I was thinking that Craig Wasson was in it playing the lead role of the artist; but, I can find no mention of it in his filmographies listed on the net.

A few specific things I remember of the imagery in the film is a scene in which the artist sets up an eisel out front of the rooming house and is painting while talking to the woman he's fallen in love with.

Another thing I remember is a hinted giveaway that these people in the rooming house were ghosts was something to do with their pupils.

Again, any help here appreciated. I'd love to find this movie for my collection or at least put a name to it for sanity's sake.
