A few movie related surprises for christmas

I recieved some pretty interesting surprises in the movies i got for christmas this year.

First was Dawn of the Dead. My wife bought me the director's cut. We sat through the whole thing and didnt notice anythign new, at all.

After starting to watch it with the director's commentary, i discovered why. They were talking about how certain scenes were readded, even though i was already familiar with them. Apparently, the version i downloaded off of bittorrent back in the summer WAS the director's cut, long before the movie was even out on dvd. Kind of cool, but also a bit disappointing.

Also, i didnt care too much for the extras. they were cheesy (especially the andy thing....)

on the plus side, my dog soldiers had a TON more than the one i have been watching. I had never actually seen anything with sgt wells laying on the ground after the werewolf attack with his intestines plainly visible, or that Bruce impaled himself before beeing killed. Also, i had never before seen Terry get his throuat ripped out and hishead tossed for a 34 pointer at the front of the range rover

i was pleasantly surprised to see just how gory the movie actually was :D

i thought it was ok ...
it gave us a look at a guy we could only see from a distance ..
And it tied into the film real time ...

anyway .. its not like it made the DVD cost more :)

I'll agree that the Andy "extra" was a bit too long but it was a pretty good idea.

Exactly, all of the extras were good ideas, they just didnt pan out on film.
