ok i love kurt but i do have to agree that layne never gets credit. but its said its better to burn out then fade away, well i guess kurt just burned out faster and more dramitic then layne

Exactly.....and Nirvana was FIRST....AIC was after that, so was soundgarden, etc.etc.

Nirvana broke mainstream music out of the 80's synth derived punk.....ill agree that AIC is a far more TALENTED band, but they didnt change anything, they just kicked ass.....Nirvana changed everything....

And if you REALLY want to get picky Trent came first as NIN's first album hit in '89, and was a far cry from the pop that flooded the airwaves....but it didn't hit like Nevermind did....nothing hit like that since either....

Pretty Hate Machine was popular on college radio.

Ya, its a great fucking album....even got alot of good hits on it and broke them out....

But Nevermind blew worldwide in like 3 days....it really was insane...
