Can someone please help me?!?
 

Hello there.

I was trying to get hold of a horror movie that I had seen about 15-20 years
ago as a child. It doesn't help that I can't remember the name!
So, I was wondering if someone was able to help me please.

I can remember the basic storyline, and a few scenes:
- In the beginning, 2 guys go into this house. They separate (as usual for
horror movies). One guy looks around, and goes into the kitchen. I think
the microwave was on, and when he looks inside, it's his friend's head!
- There is a pond or a pool that's close to the house. Centuries ago, a ritual was carried out on a possessed woman (witch). They crucified her and threw her into the pond. The priest threw in a cross to keep her at bay during the daytime. When the new owners move into this house, the
husband finds and removes the cross from the pond. This lets the 'witch' to
roam around in the daytime.
- The husband does some research eventually and finds out about the witch.
He reads about it in some ancient archives at a church.
- There is some sort of a secret room in the basement of this house. The
basement has alot of junk stored from the previous owners.
- In the end, someone gets dragged into the pond by the witch. I think it's
the husband.

Does that jog anyone's memories? I remember being absolutely petrified when
seeing this movie, and I wish I could remember the name!

what you described reminded me of the Amityville horror stories, but I could be wrong.
The one that I watch, there are about 4 of them, was similar but a newer movie.

The flick your looking for is called Superstition made in 1982 about a witch that was killed and dumped into a "Black pond" near the house that returns 200 years after her death! hope that helps!

I remembered it as 'The Witch' but that came up with nothing, but that's actually the 'aka' name.

sounds like the ring. but instead of it being about a little girl it's about a witch. and instead of it being japanesse. its american. and instead of her coming out of a tv. she comes out of a basement. other than those things i think the makers of the ring copied superstitions. man what a rip off. and heres me saying that the ring was a original idea man.the film industry is so full of shit.
