Human Cloning
What do you think about the possiblities i've cloning humans?
Should human cloning be legal or illegal (it's currently illegal in the US)? |
No flipper babies!

I believe in certain aspects of cloning, such as cloning limbs and organs for implant and replacement. I DO NOT believe in cloning entire beings. There is just something horribly twisted about the thought of having another me running around. Unless they could make a female me... then I might be interested. :)

Agreed. I can see a benefit to cloning healthy organs for transplant, but other than that, I say 'No'. They should not be cloning people at all. That's too fucked up. It's hard to even find the words to describe my thoughts on this... What if we all had a clone? And then when you died, they took your place, took your job, fucked your wife, raised your kids, etc... (6th Day anyone?) and no one even knew you were really dead. Worse yet, what if the clones realized this potential and began killing their originals? Too many fucked up possibilities for me support this cause. |
Definitely some good points there bwind22 and I agree with you on all of them.
|
Yeah, all of my points have already been said.
1. I agree with cloning organs and limbs (if cloning limbs is possible ...) 2. I don't agree with cloning entire beings. What would be the point? Although, I don't think that a clone of a person would actually become that person. Our personalities are shaped by a variety of things, not just our genes. Unless a clone with your genes experienced the exact same things you experienced in the exact sequence that you experienced them, then it cannot become "another you". |
Were not god and therfore we should not act as god
|
NO

I think Bush is fucking retarted for not letting us use stem cells...but I wont get into that. The number lives we could save with is just incredible.
I dont think I know enough about the consequences of cloning, so for once I'll just shut my big mouth about an issue. |
stem cell research is a great thing its using life that no longer exists to help those who need help
|
you also have to relise the controversy on this issue. It leads back to abortions and right know bush has to play it safe to ensurre him being re-elected

but idon't think someone hovering around another human being waiting for them to die so they can live for a few more years wasn't excatly what god had in mind. p.s not that i'm against transplants either. but if there is a better way of doing something . with less chance of the organ being rejected we should go that way instead. thats what me thinks anyways |
i think the problem that people have with growing replacement arms, hearts etc...
is that u cant just grow an arm, u hafto grow an entire body to get those things. perhaps one day we'll be able to make Just a heart, kidney, just an arm..... but not now.. |
they grew a human ear on the back of a lab mouse. ear lobe i should say. you know the ear thing on the side of ya head.
|
yeh ive seent hat.
its like cartilidge and they just stick it under the skin. so does that mean they cut off the rat skin and give it to you? or just the cartilidge and then stick it under ur skin stretching it out... anyway, ears are a lot diff than a heart or arm |
Has anyone ever seen "The Clonus Horror"? I think that s what it was. It was about people growing clones to harvest for body parts. A couple of them exscape their "home" (where they were bred and grown) to try and start a normal life.
Anyway, the chick gets lobotomized and the guy ends up captured and killed fior his heart or something. it was bad enough to be used as an MST3K movie. But, it actually did a decent job of showing how evil it would be to create a clone simply to use as a repository for fresh organs. They would be people, just carbon copies. but i think once they were born, no matter how they were born, they would still be humans, and therefore be afforded the rights that all humans are in this country.' I could see someone being clever and changing the genes just enough to make them "not human", but that would risk the recipient of the organs regecting the genetically different tissue and defeat the whole purpose. |
could they clone my penis and make it bigger?
|
i dont know why but this seems like a topic bloodrayne would start
i could have a me to fake my own death to get out of school |
I'm against full body cloning, say for example, a family looses young child through natural or unnatural circumstances, and wish that child be replecated as a new embrio with human intervention.... there are other examples but thats just a rough one.
On the other hand, If medical research found ways of using cloned genes, or what ever process is used, as a way of preventing future disease or abnornmalities in future offspring etc then I'm comfortable with knowing that this could be a way forward in fighting inherited problems. |
How about a brain-dead clone? It should be possible to create clones that are complete vegetables with little to no frontal lobe, basically born lobotomized.

hey then they could be used in Zombie films.... no need for makeup and extras then, real life zombies, just need to chuck some blood over them for full effect. |

They were only doing the cloning for rich people and celebrities...They told them that the clones had no feelings or independant thought, so it was morally okay...The clones were kept locked up and out of the public eye...They were missing eyes, arms, legs, even SKIN...But they still lived, and they knew what was going on and that their only purpose in life was to be used as parts...If a rich guy lost his arm or something, they would just cut one off of the clone...It was pretty fucked up...I thought it was actually a pretty cool idea for a movie Quote:
