Y.M.C.A
Young man, there's no need to feel down
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground
I said, young man, cause your in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy

Young man, there's a place you can go
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

They have everything for men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

You can get yourself clean
You can have a good meal
You can do whatever you feel

Young man, Are you listening to me
I said, young man, what do you want to be
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams
but you've got to know this one thing

No man, does it all by himself
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf
And just go there, to the Y.M.C.A.
I'm sure they can help you today

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

They have everything for men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

You can get yourself clean
You can have a good meal
You can do whatever you feel.

Young Man, I was once in your shoes
I said, I was down and out with the blues
I felt, no man cared if I were alive
I felt the whole world was so jive

That's when someone came up to me
And said young man take a walk up the street
There's a place there called the Y.M.C.A.
They can start you back on your way

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything For men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys

Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

Young man, Young man, there's no need to feel down
Young man, Young man, pick yourself off the ground
Y.M.C.A.
Just go to the Y.M.C.A.
Young Man, Young Man, I was once in your shoes
Young Man, Young Man, I was out with the blues

One day...years ago, I had "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners in my head for most of the day. Thank god for water towers and my high powered rifle.;)

Stingy Jack 07-13-2004 05:44 AM

The Andy Griffith theme. If I hear it once, I'm whistiling it all damn day. I hate it!!!

bloodrayne 07-13-2004 05:45 AM

Spiritualized..."Ladies And Gentleman W. A. F. I. S."

Oh...and for some reason I always catch myself humming, "If I Only Had A Brain" as sung by the Scarecrow in the Wizard Of Oz...Many other people have caught me, too:D

Vodstok 07-13-2004 05:50 AM

Smells Like Funk by the black eyed peas, and pretty much the whole score to Nightmare Before Christmas.....

Both of these have been driving me mental for about 2 weeks....

LMAO...Welcome to MY world :D

bloodrayne 07-28-2006 09:52 PM

Okay...For some reason when I'm rocking the baby to sleep...I keep catching myself humming Edelweiss (like just now...wtf?)...And the theme song from the Smurfs...However, the Smurfs theme has plagued me for years...I often get caught humming that one :)

Honestly..I am ALWAYS humming or singing SOMETHING...It' so natural for me, I'm usually unaware that I'm doing it until Dustin points it out...And, many times even I don't have a clue what it is, but he usually figures it out and tells me...There have been many instances where I have caught myself, then asked him "Hey, what is this song?"..or "What is this tune from?"

I think he's gotten used to it because now he just has fun guessing what it is that I'm humming/singing...And many of the tunes are SO obscure...It usually goes something like:

Me: *absentmindedly humming or singing something*
Dustin: *Usually surprised*... Why on earth are you singing (or humming) _______?!

Fill in the blank...Cuz, it could be just about anything...

Miss Olivia 07-29-2006 12:28 AM

The music from Phantom of the Opera.
And the movie Xanadu.
God, I hate Olivia Newton-John.
Xanaduuuu.....Xanaduuuuh.....(now we are here) In Xanaduuuh...
Now that I'm here, now that you're near....in Xanaduuu...

Ugh.

:D

Dude Guadalupe 07-29-2006 12:54 AM

Happy Days theme song (thanx to stupid shane)
We're commin to kill ya - Zachariah
Tales From The Crypt theme
Homer Simpson's version of the Oscar Meyer song
English Fire - Cradle Of Filth
Smell The Witch - Mortiis
About A Girl - Voltaire

The list is too damn long, and has just about every song I ever heard

crabapple 07-29-2006 05:05 AM

Most any song will do that...if I'm bored, I start to whistle...and any song I start whistling, I usually whistle badly at first. So I keep working on it, trying to improve it...and the song eventually becomes the song of the day. Like, yeah, for example, the Andy Griffith Show theme.

monalisa 07-29-2006 05:28 AM

Hey diddle dee dee, a pirate's life for me....

crabapple 07-29-2006 05:34 AM

Whoa! That's two Disney songs stitched to-gether!

Remember George Burns singing "Fixing a Hole" in "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"?

"A one, a two, a one two three, ba da bahh, bahh, diddly diddly diddly!"

horrorobsessed 07-29-2006 06:16 PM

any song that i hate will get stuck in my head. like my sister listens to rap a lot, which ends up getting stuck in my head. i hate it cause the good songs never get stuck.

bloodrayne 07-29-2006 07:15 PM

Ach!...I was in the kitchen cooking, when THIS one snuck into my head, and of course, starting coming out of my mouth...And I was told that I do it at some point, just about every day:

Sheena Easton...Morning Train

W...T...F...???!!!

crabapple 07-29-2006 07:18 PM

Actually, I have had a problem with Sheena Easton's "For Your Eyes Only" James Bond theme. It's pretty catchy! I suppose it's better than "Morning Train." Hm.

AUSTIN316426808 07-29-2006 07:30 PM

The Phantom of the Opera music

The Nightmare Before Christmas music

Dave Matthews Band songs

OK, next time you think of it, quickly think of Soul Asylum's "Runaway Train". That's a great song, well I think so anyway. :)

bloodrayne 07-30-2006 12:30 AM

Rocking the baby...Just now...humming...

It Came Upon A Midnight Clear

Miss Olivia 07-30-2006 07:16 AM

Empire by Queensryche is another one that digs it's figurative heels in and won't go away.
Bummer.

azathoth777 07-30-2006 07:59 AM

For songs that dive me crazy, I tend to get theme songs from shows I saw growing up. A-Team, Cheers, Family Ties, Fact Of Life, Different Stroke, and The Golden Girls are the most common.
That, and terrible hair metal songs from the 80s. Like Ratt, Poison, Motley Crue, Slaughter, Skid Row....

stubbornforgey 07-30-2006 01:32 PM

e thinking...too much t.v maybe ?? :D

crabapple 07-30-2006 02:45 PM

You would love the songs in "Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare" (out on DVD now, supposedly). There's this great number called "We Live To Rock," and it kind of goes,

We live, we live to rock!
We live, we live to rock!
We live, we live to rock!
That's why we're rockin', ROUUUUUUUND the clock!

And the word "clock" is like a meat cleaver coming down. This movie kicks ass. The rock band gets attacked by demons, fights Satan and stuff.

Dude Guadalupe 07-30-2006 02:47 PM

I just got hit by "no time to cry" the Cradle Of Filth version

Soloman Kane 07-30-2006 02:57 PM

Any good damn song from the movie grease. I have no idea why accept I was subject to this crap baby sitting my little cousin. She played the sound track until the tape broke.

I dunno about the rest of you, but I hate that movie.

I constantly get Alanis Morissette stuck in my head... It's all my mom's fault.

Couldn't move a muscle like I had a heart attack
The night was wild and woolly
Didn't think I'd make it through it
'Cause lovin' you's a dirty job'
