No Hendrix was really influential for a lot of people plus he was way fucking ahead of his time....

He was a great fucking guitarist.....no doubt about it....

jimi hendrix ripped off cream and hendrix ripped off eric clapton. Eric clapton is far more influential but people just dont say it enough.

You do realize that the guitarist for Cream was Clapton, right?

Plus, how do you figure Clapton doesn't get his due? I would say he is thought of as one of the three or four greatest living guitarists in the world today!

Oh yeah, that reminded me... I want Santana on my list instead of S.R. Vaughn. Vaughn's good, but I like Carlos' style better! Anyways, Slash kicks all their asses with his thrashing metal solos! (I know he's slightly less talented, but he rocks a lot harded to make up for it.)

slash can do stuff with his hands that no other guitarist can and hes a faster guitar player then any other guitarist . just listen to paradise city greaste solo of all time and it was improvd

AHHHH, Meshuggah. Ok. They're actually one of my favorite bands, at least from a technical standpoint. However, I would still have to say that Joe Satriani is faster (not by much, but he is), but his style pales in comparison with that of Frederick Thornendal.

Thank you Ege, i was wondering when someone would aknowledge the Great Kirk Hammet. By far my favorite, i wont argue with anyone how he ranks against the rest of the wiorld, but he gets my vote as a great.

I think people are voting on particuliar styles that they like, and thats alright. You can't argue that Joe Satriani or Steve Vai are not great guitar players.They both smoke, pick up one of the G3 DVD's and you will be blown away.But I think a little of their style goes a long way.So when I'm putting on a CD its most likely gonna be one of these fellows [ You also have to figure in the age differance, I am probabaly a good 15yrs or more older than most of you ]

I love Slayer, but I hate Kerry King. I never liked his solos. He's like a second (more like third) rate Zakk Wylde.

I was reading a magazine where he ripped on Dave Mustaine and then started talking about how cool it was to hang out with Sum 41. Dave Mustaine is far better than Kerry King could ever be.

I'm going to switch out SRV with Randy Rhoads.

You probably know this already, but the lead singer (Todd Lewis) got together with Taz Bentley from Reverend Horton Heat to form The Burden Brothers. They have 1 cd out and it kicks ass. To me, it sounds just like a third Toadies cd.
