Another meaningless poll: Cats vs. Dogs

Okay ... actually this isn't really meaningless. You can tell a lot about a person depending on which of these two household pets they like more. For me, it's the dog. I currently have a cat, and I hate it. She walks around here, acting like she owns the damn place. The only time she wants me to pet her is when she has an itch she can't reach. She scratches up all the furniture. She flings her turds OUT of the litterbox. Cats bite.

Dogs are far more loyal, intelligent, and fun than cats. Sure, they requre a little more maintenance .. but hey! At least they let you know you're appreciated.

You didn't say what kind of dogs or cats. A cheetah is in the cat family, and they're amazing creatures. In egypt they were looked upon as gods and demons, or so I've read. So I vote for those damn felines.

Well ... I meant your common, high-and-mighty, walk-around-with-its-tail-in-the-air, puffed-up-with-self-importance house cat. I mean ... hell ... Any of the big cats are better than a lousy mutt anyday.

bwind22 07-02-2004 08:12 PM

Dogs by far.

In that case I vote for the trusty k-9.

Definitely CATS! I have A dog and 4 cats. The cats are WAY smarter than the dog, and display superior cognitive thinking! And...our dog can speak...says num num for a treat, not woof woof!

Our cats, come any time they are called, give kisses when you ask, go on the leash, fetch and get down as soon as they are told!

My hub used to hate cats but after having them, he is now a convert!LOL!

I have two cats, both are realy nice. One's big and heavy and he scares all the wildlife in the neighbourhood, the other one is small and she's a really cute half persian, and she spends all day trying to catch frogs in the garden pond.

Then poll says it all, really...everyone who hasn't been hiding under a big bad MOTHERFUCKER of a rock will know how I feel about cats by now...

By the way - If you want a cat-like creature that isn't a snobby, self-important, parasitic asshole, AND stays cute and playful past a month or two, and ACTUALLY LIKES HUMANS, I'd reccomend a ferret.
But even then, I'd still give a priority vote to the dog.

i hate cats...

Sounds like you cat haters have never met the right cat. My cat is named Merlin. He's jet black. He is very friendly, but not to the point where you want to kick its ass because he won't leave you alone. Doesn't shed much. Likes people. Doesn't get in your way. Doesn't bite (unless you're playing with him). Doesn't know anything out of the litter box. Refuses to eat anything except for cat food (which means no begging at the kitchen table).

He's perfect.

You are right! Like I said my hub used to hate them, my brother and mom too. It does take the right cat.....mine are great. I have had really stupid asshole cats.......as well as one little shit of a chiquaua! Animals are all different like people.

I love all animals.....my cats though, have so much personality. I also like their self sufficiancy. I am very busy usually and don't have the time to give a big dog the exercise it would need.

Well ... one thing I HAVE noticed about cats is that if you're going to have one .... you should really have more than one. The thing with those animals is that their personalities really come out in their behavior as opposed to the way they look. Much different than dogs. Dogs actually have facial expressions ... the cats' expressions are limited to "wide eyes" -- "partly closed eyes" -- "normal eyes."

But, the cat has a unique personality that can really be seen when you watch it in comparison to another cat (or cats) in the house. The way they interact with each other, the way one cat will do something differently than another cat. I suppose this is why "cat people" usually have a ton of them running all around the house.

So true..I have 4.......3 girls and a boy........it is so funny watching the boxing matches and whole dynamics of it all. BBD is the princess of the house......can get anyone to bow to her and lick her.....everyone hates Cocoa.....bitch of the house, they gang up on her all the time,ex girlfriend of Simon who now worships BBD.
Funny!

Poudy is like Yoda, and looks like him too!

They all know she is the oldest, and respect her,she is Cocoa's only friend. There is always something going on between them.
They also couldn't be more different...nothing alike. Poudy is my hubs baby..can do no wrong. He stayed up with her as a kitten giving her meds in the middle of the night when she was sick. Tiny little Himalayan runt!

kpropain 07-04-2004 03:25 PM

Dogs are and always will be mans best friend, loveable playful what's not to like...

Cats on the other hand will sit there and look at you like, you wanna pet me motherfucker, come over here, if your lucky I might shit in that box....

orangestar 07-04-2004 03:41 PM

I have both, and I love both equally :D

My cat, Owen is very antisocial and loves to sit around and wait for people to love him. Thats okay with me, I give him attention all the time. When he was a kitten we had an older cat, and he was mean to her, they always fought. Now that he's grown up and my dog does that to him, he feels what it was like.

My dog, Jack is a clown. He will do anything and everything for attention and gets really jealous of Owen. I love dogs because it feels so good to be greeted at the door by someone who really couldnt wait to see you.
