What happened to Vodstok
 

This is not a question, rather it is an answer.

So... this is weird but I am part of a lost media search that is utterly unrelated to what I am about to tell you. It just so happens that I also wrote for cracked.com and knew who Vodstok was. And I just happened to end up on this forum where he has also been posting, while on my lost media search. Seeing so many posts by him and seeing that many of his friends are still posting to this day it made me think that some of you probably wonder why he suddenly vanished (as did I and many others in 2017 when he just vanished all of a sudden from social media)

First of all. His real name is David Dietle (this is not a dox, he would write under his real name and still has his cracked writer profile linked in his signature on this forum)

The reason he vanished from all social media, including this forum, is because he went to prison.

I knew him.
I considered us friends...we shared a lot of food/cooking stuff together.
I remember at a point he was going to put together a cookbook that I may have contributed to, I'm not sure if he ever went ahead. He kind of moved off to other forums, started writing more, and I think it's been going on a decade since we spoke. Probably more.

I know he had a cute wife and a beautiful little daughter...not that I'd wish it on ANY kid...but I kind of hope this wasn't about that little girl that we considered one of our own around these parts at the time.

The allegations against Dietle go back roughly a decade, and accuse him of engaging in sexual acts with a female relative on two occasions between Dec. 1, 2007 and Jan. 31, 2008, when the girl was two years old.

Man...the ages seem to line up...I'm hoping against hope it wasn't her...
We knew this kid here...Vod was part of the hdc family...
After all the shit he mentioned time and again about shitty family not treating each other right, I guess he became a product of the cycle.
Don't know what to say...what do you say when one of your friends, even former, turns into a monster...?

I wonder if Urgeok was aware of these news when they came out since the two seemed to get along very well.

I will never understand the interest in underage girls. There was a story in the news a few days ago about some reality guy getting caught with that stuff. The guy has or had a show with him and like 10+ children.

By most accounts it's a case of underage in general that seems to be the driving force. God knows whether it's an obsession with their innocence or some need to feel dominant. It may even be that these people truly have no ability to switch off their thoughts, and I have a certain horrified sympathy if that is the case. But the moment those thoughts and urges turns into actions they are prioritizing their own id and pleasure over the wellbeing of the most vulnerable, trusting members of society. To do it to someone who is meant to trust and rely on you more than anyone is truly twisted.

I guess. I remember that Catch a Predator show. I thought it was funny. Both the title and situation. Because it wasn't an actual Predator they were catching. But a bunch of men showing up to the homes of underage girls. And they had alcohol and all kinds of sex items. The host would always say what are you doing here? But of course it was obvious by the items. I think the host got in trouble for cheating on his wife or something.

That’s some really scary and crazy stuff. Makes me wonder if things like this is why other members vanished.

Once again in the online world, it goes to show never to trust a friendly face and a kind word. Treat all you know online as a stranger and never as a "good friend" unless you know the person in real life. Not to sound like an ass hole but the few on here that still talk to me I am always cautious of. Not to be paranoid only cautious because even tho y'all have talked to one another for years on here, just how well do you know one another?

Even people you know in real life (not online only), you don't know about. Guy I work with was arrested for child pornography. Never would have thought it of him.

Yeah the truth is you don't know anyone. You bet that someone is a good person. But you don't find out if a person is good or bad until a situation arises. I've met far too many criminals in real life. It's like the drug user that won't volunteer that information until they think you are a drug user as well or their friend and won't walk away from them. Just look at that recent overdose death of the comedians. As far as I know cocaine is illegal in most places.
