What if they expectedly plan their own death, and the planned death is only mildly violent? Do they roam earthy?

Bloof 08-02-2016 04:44 PM

I have seen a ghost. No one can convince me otherwise. It was in broad daylight and I was with a group of daycare kids. I don't care if people believe me or not because there is no other explanation.

They were toddlers and my first instinct was to yell at the man because he appeared to be lurking near these antique trucks parked in an empty lot. I thought he was trying to hide from us or scare the kids. He startled me quite frankly. One minute he wasn't there and the next minute he was. He wore sunglasses, had bandages around his face (like he had been burnt), a baseball cap and mechanics overalls. Then he just vanished. I didn't say anything to kids. My husband went back later to look around and saw nothing.

ImmortalSlasher 08-02-2016 10:21 PM

They don't make logical sense but I'm sure they exist. I posted about them before years ago.

As a Christian, I believe in an afterlife. But as far as the piercing of the veil between life and death I don't think so.

However, God could allow it !

But far as ghosts roaming the world, no.

I would have to see one to believe it.

I think in many cases it is some sort of psychological activity within the person's mind.

Most mediums and palm readers are fakes, thought they may have some that have special powers.

However, like UFO's, my mind is always open to the possibilities that they do exist

And I feel the same way about ghosts.

But I think that there is a better chance that UFO's exist rather than ghosts.

Anthropophagus 08-03-2016 10:33 AM

I have no wish to scare you good people but i am a ghost.

I have tried to conceal this for quite some time but this thread has made me think i should come clean.I only come out at night and when everyone is asleep, that is why i can use this computer and talk to you guys.

Shhhhh,i hear footsteps,i must dash and disapear before i am found and then have to have my photo taken constatly and have to put up with those pesky glowing orbs.

Despite having seen whatever it was that I saw, as a rule I don't buy in to ghosts haunting houses etc.

I totally agree. Haunting houses? That's ridiculous. But the stomping grounds of antique trucks... that's where the action is. ::wink::

I know, right? I just don't have any other explanation as for what he could have been. But if you think about it, he was totally covered right down to the bandages around his face. I should have tried to find out the history of those trucks.

Aren't we all missing the obvious answer?: The invisible man.

You guys! ::big grin::

Smeg Head1 08-05-2016 06:55 AM

My mom says she lived in a house that was haunted and I grew up listening to the stories about it. But only an inexplicable personal incident or concrete evidence can make me believe in ghosts. Until then I do not believe in any such thing. As for 'mediums' or 'psychics', I believe them to either be delusional or complete charlatans.

The celestial teapot that orbits the sun, however, is real.

Roiffalo 08-06-2016 01:10 AM

You guys are making this hard to take seriously, thanks a lot. ::stick out tongue::

But yes, I do believe. It's hard to not believe something you've seen with your own eyes. Not to mention all the evidence provided by others.

When I was in High School (before Ghost Hunters made ghost hunting ''cool'' and everyone and their cat was doing it) my friends and I spent the evening in the cemetery after school let out for summer vacation one year. We took pictures of the stones, made light conversation with any entities lurking about, and we had captured photos of orbs here and there. Then my closest friend had an idea, after snapping a photo of a good lot of the graves, she asked them all to gather for a group photo and took another shot of the same area. The next photo she took was FULL of orbs, I had never seen anything like it. I have had no doubt in my mind from that night on.

There was also a friend who caught a ghost in the window of a house in Gettysburg in one of his photos, but that place has plenty of its own stories.

Can you scan and upload a few of the grave picks.

Funny, just last night in StL my buddy and I were just talking about the orbs in the pics we took during a nighttime graveyard visit long ago.

If I can find them. I believe my friend who took the photos made an article about it for the school paper and my copy is around here somewhere.

I need another night time graveyard visit. My brother and I have been talking about doing one sometime before school starts. My mother even showed interest in joining us, didn't expect that, I keep forgetting she's into some paranormal stuff.

Ya! We'll go to the graveyard for our first date, take a few respectful shots... It'll be very romantic!

I'm not from StL either. I currently live in driving distance.

Me and some friends went to the StL Blues museum, videotaped an interview with young Matt "The Rattlesnake" Lesch. And saw some live music at an outside bar. The people are much friendlier there than Chicago.

Maybe have a picnic on the corner of Tim Anderson 1937-1999 and Jane Dunkin 1899-1987. We'll have meat pie for our meal and of course pie for dessert. ::love::

Orbs are easily explained. They are simply dust in the air captured by the lens of the camera. The human eye does not detect these usually but the camera does.Simples.

True, the camera flash at night is going to hit some dust, bugs and whatnot, and they are going to be out-of-focus orbs of any size corresponding to their distance to the shutter.

Ghostly images and disassociated (EVP) Electronic Voice Phenomenon sounds are interesting for a few seconds... One has to go way beyond that in regards to empirical experimentation and direct physical evidence, or I consider it a waste of time. There is real parapsychological research going on.

By that I mean some good folk are stoked and entertained by repetitive, inherently and infinity indeterminately dead-end material. I'm sure there's a range of reasons why people get on that hampster-wheel: thrills, and safe-zones to believe what they want... Some collect stamps, it's just not my bag. I getting anyone's goat? ::wink::

I wish we could ALL meet up in a cemetery some day with some good food, good drink and good stories. (Of course, with all of us still being alive) If I ever win a lottery I will arrange this.

There are many strange things in the world.

I've been to some strange places and seen/heard some disquieting things. So yes, I are bereave in ghost exists.

I would love to meet up when we're all dead and spook some kids.

anglewitch 08-17-2016 03:50 AM

Ghosts do exist. The are lost souls that died violently so their souls were misplaced or souls that just couldn't find there way so there trapped in the plain between dimensions. Sometimes if the ghost did something very bad or evil when he was alive his punishment was to be a ghost until Ragnarok. When you see ghosts in objects (mostly mirrors or anything else that reflects an image) this means they had a specific attachment to the object or it's the reflection of the spirit's past. A ghost is something you don't want to be. Some ghosts can be brought peace and find there way home if you find out what happened to the ghost when he or she was alive if he died a wrongful death. People that were innocent but were convicted of a crime and were sent to jail and died there never rest in peace because they cannot have peace until they are proven innocent. For ghosts who just lost there way can only be helped by placing a candle or jack-o-lantern at you window or on your porch. Always set the candle on the east side of your house. The provides light to help them see through the darkness and find there way home. Now for ghosts who did something evil in their past life cannot be helped by anyone, only by themselves can they find peace and that way is by confessing his sins to God and mortals.

I know more stuff but I don't have the time to type it all down.
As for seeing a ghost I'll have to say I haven't but my dad when he was a boy saw an image of my great great grandmother in the looking glass of an old antique nightstand from the 1890's.

horcrux2007 08-17-2016 06:02 AM
