Which classic film is YOUR Halloween ritual?

I'm new, so forgive me if this has already been done.

We're all ( obviously ) big genre fans, and all have our favs, but which classic is your yearly ritual for the Halloween season?

Personally, I always make it a point to watch Dario Argento's Phenomena every year around this time. I think it's one of his more underrated films and it also went on to inspire one of my favorite video game series.

I find Candyman to be my Halloween ritual. If I have to make up a tradition, watching it would be awesome. I love the music, scenery and deaths that are still interesting to this day.

MichaelMyers 10-28-2015 12:13 PM

Halloween.

Roiffalo 10-28-2015 02:27 PM

I would make it tradition to watch American Werewolf in London every year, but I seldom get the time on the actual night of. My girlfriend and I made a list of horror movies to watch for Halloween though. We hope to be able to watch it next year. Along with AWIL I added Halloween and Trick or Treat.

Morningriser 10-28-2015 02:56 PM

when I was a kid I watched Rocky Horror Picture Show every year but for the last 15 or so years I mix it up and watch a fuck ton of horror on Halloween. I seem to watch Halloween and Evil Dead II the most.

DeadbeatAtDawn 10-28-2015 03:07 PM

I watch Halloween 78, House of Wax 53, Trick R Treat added Lord of Tears. I watch random all through the day. These are my night time films that make me feel Halloween. : )

I'm going to add Tales of Halloween too!

Repo'd 10-28-2015 03:29 PM

Love hearing what you all will be watching on our most Holy Hallowday.

For me it's Carpenter's Halloween in prime time Halloween night. Around that I'll watch a ton of other stuff, Like Night of the Living Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and whatever strikes me.

Oh, and Monster House while eating cereal in the morning. That's become a Halloween day tradition too.

I always watch original Halloween on Halloween night. It just makes the day feel complete and I love that. This year were watching it on VHS which is really gonna be awesome!

I've had the first one on VHS for about a year now and haven't even been able to see if it works. I was hoping to save it for Halloween. Maybe next year. Today I got part IV on VHS too, hoping to have way more this time next year.

Lol, I didn't watch it AGAIN this year. Being back in school I very well could have too, but I opted out for sleep. I'll be regretting that move for a long time. ::roll eyes::

Any one of the Universal classics but I am partial to The Wolf Man, or Robert Wise's The Haunting.

DarkGlobe 01-07-2017 06:31 AM

I usually try to watch two films on Halloween, one classic favourite (often Halloween 3) and one new one.

This year it was Cape Fear and Phantasm: Ravager!

RIP Angus.

Zero 01-15-2017 03:13 PM

My new holiday tradition is Trick 'R Treat!

HorrorFreak 04-10-2017 03:01 PM

The Exorcist.

BloodRaptor 04-10-2017 11:42 PM

My bf, Sake, usually makes us watch Van Helsing 'round Halloween every year. It ain't scary at all an' it's actually cheesy as hell, but it's got some good lookin' werewolves. That count?

I should find my own movie tradition fer Halloween, if I have ta sit through watchin' him drool over Hugh Jackman he should sit through me droolin' over somethin' nice an' bloody. XP

Sounds fair. Ideally, you can find a movie that Jackman spends most of the film just being handsome, and then he gets torn into a million blood dripping bits.
I'll keep an eye out for that one for ya, B Rap!

diezman 04-12-2017 06:07 PM

Halloween 1978

Halloween II

Halloween III Season of the Witch

idoneus1957 05-21-2018 07:09 AM

which horror movie

Do you mean Night of the Demon aka Curse of the Demon? That is one terrific movie. Rocky Horror Picture Show alludes to it in the opening song:
Dana Andrews said prunes
Gave him the runes,
And passing them took lots of skill.

Niall MacGinnis also played the god Zeus in Jason and the Argonauts.

LuvablePsycho 05-21-2018 07:22 AM

I love doing classic zombie movies like George Romero's Night of the Living Dead and Lucio Fulci's Zombie. I also like Stephen King movies like The Shining and Children of the Corn.

knife_fight 05-21-2018 11:27 AM

Besides Halloween and Trick R Treat, I always watch the Sleepy Hollow portion of Disney's "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" and "Mad Monster Party".
