Headless
Put my order in for this today (http://forbiddenfilms.storenvy.com/). Can't wait to check it out. Found was the best independent film I've seen in a long time and although this is a different beast entirely I have high hopes of it being a great slasher. Anyone checked it out yet?
|
Synopsis: In this "lost slasher film from 1978," a masked killer wages an unrelenting spree of murder, cannibalism, and necrophilia. But when his tortured past comes back to haunt him, he plunges to even greater depths of madness and depravity, consuming the lives of a young woman and those she holds dear.
"Greater depths of madness and depravity"? When cannibalism and necrophilia just aren't low enough... This better involve child torture, then. FOUND was quite good, if not great. ::shocked:: |
Yes. Ahem..signature. : )
I was part of the campaign and donated, received a screener then a DVD. One of the sickest beautiful films ever made.. ::love:: The bar is set high for all the other indie/underground releases of 2015. : ) |

looks sufficiently daft to warrant a viewing

gets an 8.2 on imdb. It this rating is typical small horror film bullshitting from the producer cast and all his family and friends, which you often get on low budget horror on imdb, then i won't be happy
|
I thought 'Found' wasn't bad, especially considering the budget. One thing that was a strange choice was that all the extreme violence in it was in the 'film with in the film'.
|
Haha, wow. Gotta check out this and Found. Makes me wish for another Jim Van Bebber flick, actually.

I am really curious about this one!!!!
|
this film is dogshite of the highest order. No storyline, zero character sypathy, crap effects and boring kills that are decapitate, skull fuck repeat pretty much throughout the fillm. Also god knows what slasher elements were in it besides a few grainy shots. I'd have rather have watched wolf baby, at least that had a smattering of exploitation credibility, even if they did just rip the false trailer idea off tarantino. Avoid like the plague that has also got the clap.

I actually watched this one. It reminded me alot of Ogroff: The Mad Mutilator. Much like that long forgotten gem there really isn't much more to this film then kill, kill, kill on a small budget. It seemed like this movie wanted to be more, like it wanted to have substance, but any attempt they made at telling a story was easily the filmmaker's weakest point. The background story just ended up feeling shoehorned in and the victims just felt generic. The gore effects are the film's highlight and pretty good from time to time, but they are a bit inconsistent in quality. I went into this film wanting it to be good and it was okay to watch once, but just don't expect anything particularly memorable.

watch Found first
Headless is the best horror movie I have ever seen. Finally a horror movie that actually delivers with no cute garbage and no bullshit. Its actually a movie within a movie so watch 'Found' first. Found is an amazing movie, but you must watch it first in order to completely enjoy Headless.

Pretty curious to check this out, although I was way more of a fan of the atmosphere of Found than the carnage of the film-within-a-film. Found would have been a great movie if they'd had a few more script edits and some better casting, but for what it was, I was pretty impressed.
|
And speaking of Found, I am really looking forward to Scott Schirmer's new movie, Harvest Lake, which looks like erotica as done by H.P. Lovecraft.
