Need Help deciding what movie to pick for my horror movie club.

The movies i am having a hard time choosing from are:
1.Diabolique (original)
2. The Vanishing (original)
3. House of the Devil
4. Angel Heart
5. Funny Games (original)
6. Haute Tension/ High Tension

Thank you everyone that votes! if you'd rather email me, that is okay too!

Thanks i realized that, and just did plain text

The choice must be Haute Tension.

discreetlyred 09-17-2012 12:47 PM

Thanks! I'm going to see how many others reply and kind of get a consensus vote, but i think the club will like Haute tension if they haven't seen it!

discreetlyred 09-17-2012 01:57 PM

thanks. nice photo, Cannibal holocaust?

Straker 09-17-2012 02:45 PM

It's not on your list, but I would like to recommend The Gate...

bamahorrorfan87 09-17-2012 02:56 PM

i don't know what your group likes or has not seen but i would go with the number 6 of them films

MichaelMyers 09-17-2012 02:58 PM

Second "The Gate." It is time for them to see "The Gate."

discreetlyred 09-17-2012 03:49 PM

I'm not sure if i should be ashamed or not, but i have not seen the gate myself... :/ i should probably watch it first before putting it on my maybe list. but thanks for the suggestion!

I would like to discuss High Tension sometime, but not here. I don't want to spoil anything. Suffice to say I feel the film breaks some deals with the audience. Still I enjoyed it.

Discuss high tension

Se7en, I agree. Email me @ [email protected] and we'll chat.

Haute Tension is a rip off of the TV movie adaptation of Dean Koontz's Intensity (1997). So you might impress your group more if you show them that. If not then I also go with the original Funny Games.

discreetlyred 09-21-2012 02:54 AM

Thankyou For pointing that out. And I do kinda agree with you. However, I do still like haute tension regardless. I also find it interesting that the movies I was leaning towards the most...nobody mentioned at all. One more tally for funny games!

MichaelMyers 09-21-2012 08:28 AM

It appears, then, that Haute Tension will be the winner?

jack_wallen 09-22-2012 05:04 AM

I was going to suggest High Tension as well.

I didn't realize it was a rip off of the Koontz novel. Now I'll have to read that.

InfernusChickx 09-24-2012 09:46 AM

I must say I rather like the Gate too!

I haven't read the novel but Haute Tension is a scene by scene rip off the first part of the TV adaptation of Intensity. The second part is completely different as is the ending in Haute Tension. I think Haute Tension is a good film taken on its own merits but it shamelessly plagiarizes Intensity (1997)

In understanding the mystery that is The Gate one must first appreciate one undeniable fact...
