What Is Scary?

First off...hello, I am new on this board.

Second, I would like to know what sorts of things you guys actually are affraid of? I love horror movies and i can surly assume you all do as well. But several of my friends cant watch them because they get scared...Then I ask them...what are you affraid of? They never give me a good response. But i have yet to see a horror movie that has made me loose a wink of sleep...so i was wondering...at this point in you lives...not when you were like 5 years old or somthing...have you ever REALLY been affraid of something you saw in a movie?

The only thing i can honestly say spooks me is spiders. I just hate them.. but everything else is cool by me.

Demons and Devils Scare me. Any type of horror that envolves religion. Spiders are fucking creepy. Insane people also scare me a bit due to their ever shifting mood.

I agree. I dont loose sleep over it..but movies that involve religion are for sure the scariest. Did anyone ever see Bless The Child? For sure some spooky stuff there.

I missed that one its really that good? I didnt think it looked all that good

settdid 04-28-2004 04:38 PM

well it's no Exorcist, But it had it's moments. If you ever get the opportunity to see it...go for it...but dont make a special trip to the video store for it.

I had two of those walk by my foot while I was out in the desert. I think they were doing an erotic mating dance, and I wanted in damnit.

that is very creepy.. :(

I find the unknown is more scary than anything, when you know something isn't right but you can't quite put your finger on what.

A dark corner of a room, a mysterious staircase etc etc

settdid 04-29-2004 09:30 AM

agreed....for example, in The Shining. We all knew there was something in the room...but it was unknown...all we saw was the door open just a crack...and even though it ended up being a very attractive naked woman....it was a scary build up....Kubric nailed that film no matter what Steven King says.:D

I know exactly what you mean, that scene in the Shining scares me everytime.

Mostly what scares me in movies is devils/demons. Bless the Child was an average movie. I had wanted to see it since I was like 12, but when I finally saw it, it wasnt that great. The best devil/demon movie of all time is of course The Exorcist.

I agree profoundly!
