scary movie scenes in the most unlikely movies
I'm curious about movie scenes in general now since what people mostly talk about is the gore and blood of a movie and great kill scenes but, what about movies that weren't supposed to scare you but, they do that as of right now sounds more interesting so, think about your past what movies were supposed to be happy movies but, during one scene the movie became scary!
I know my choice, The Dark Crystal by Jim Henson really creeped me out especially the part in the movie where both a mystic dies by fading away and his enemy/counter part slowly changes into ash and they die together the movie still creeps me out to this day!!! |
I'd go for the whole of "Return To Oz" I mean everyone was expecting something in the vein of "The Wizard Of Oz. Intersting question have to ponder this.

Bilbos sudden evil face in "Fellowship Of The Ring" came as a nice shocker. :)

I agree bilbo's facial change is scary especially after seeing the friendly scene before it happens!!!

In a Norwegian film named Byttinger (Changelings) the story follows a group a juvenile delinquents who are sent to a mountain resort to learn to work together. While there the kids hear a legend that once there where a child who was put into the woods to die in the area as she was believed to be a changeling. Now the whole movie is just teen drama but then the kids are trapped in a cave and have to explore it, suddenly they find the body of the changeling child, a little girl frozen in the ice for hundreds of years, the girl had the most spooky yellow eyes. That image haunted me for weeks and is one of the few times I have been scared by a film as it was completely unexpected.

According to Snopes.com, a website dedicated to investigating urban legends, the figure is a cardboard cutout "standee" of Jack, wearing a tuxedo and top hat, that was left on the set. This prop was created as part of the storyline, in which Jack, an actor, appears in a dog food commercial, but this portion of the story was cut from the final version of the film. The standee does show up later in the film, however, when Jack stands next to it as the baby's mother comes to reclaim her child. Snopes contends that the figure in the first scene looks smaller from its appearance in the latter scene because of the distance and angle of the shot, and because the curtains obscure its outstretched arms. As for the contention that a boy died in the house, all the indoor scenes in the film were shot on a Toronto soundstage, and no residential dwellings were used for interior filming.[ |

The scene in Carnivale (can't remember which season) when the reverend has had the blond girl in his room, and his sister comes in and finds her cowering beside the bed.
Maybe not the most unlikely movie/series, on second thought! |
In case anyone isn't aware of the SpongeBob Squarepants character, Patrick Star and his occasional psychopathic meltdowns; this music played when Patrick announced he was going to keep SpongeBob in a jar of formaldehyde so they could always be together:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ8IpWuJTFE&feature=fvsr

I just remembered one, Return to Oz, Mombi and her exchangeable heads scared the crap out of me as a child, and the scene where Dorothy walks down the gallery with all the heads in display cases and all the heads suddenly come to life that was extremely creepy and not what you would expect to find in a kid's movie.
