Had a show, we rocked, got robbed.
Played a show with a touring band, we all were under the impression we could trust them since all the bands at the show were part of, or had members who were apart of the Pyrate Punx (a worldwide organization that helps bands book shows, find places to stay, food, beer, anything else with a DIY, no sponsorship attitude)
We are all broke punk rockers and can hardly afford equipment.... Never had a problem with a Pyrate Punx band before... Lovesongs from the Hated were cool, they appreciated our help but then this happened: These guys took the money we raised for them, without taking any for ourselves, they took our help, then preceded to destroy several people's equipment. They tried to fuse wires together using a lighter from several other band's guitar chords....to make a microphone..... Then stole my bass strings....even though they do not have a bassist... Then, because they destroyed their guitar chord along with the others...stole our guitar chord and left. This just pissed me off, they were talking about unity and how cool it is that all the bands in our area look after each other and how happy they were that we treated them like family. My band and one other were due to finish a full length split album this week...now we have to spend the money that we were going to use to master the tracks on new equipment. Just pissed off today! |
That sucks bro. Keep on rocking, don't let this get you down. If you sell any merchandise send me the link and I will do my part to help!

Had the money from the show taken more time than I can remember by the other bands... It does suck but I wouldn't let it faze you. What goes around comes around they won't get away pulling shit like that forever. Haha had a quick google of Love Songs From The Hated. Shit name, shit tunes wish I hadn't bothered I hope your band is better :p |
We play acoustic punk and have gotten some good reviews, I'll post a link once we get some better recordings.
The thing that pissed me off about the situation is the fact that every band was part of this organization and we all go out of our way to help each other. At least I know no one in the Idaho punk scene (yes, we have one) will let them play here again! |

If they play near me in Kansas I will steal something from the band(trust me, I've done it before-sorry Toxic Narcotic!) |
What did you steal from Toxic Narcotic?
|
Why did you steal from Toxic Narcotic? haha
|
They probably had some soiled pornography and he couldn't resist the lure.
|
If something is soiled by a crust band's standards...I don't want to even see it.

Their vodka and they were pissed. The singer kept saying "Who stole our fucking vodka" in between songs. |
Well, I can see that...more so for better booze...
|
Not cool, but...

I always found that in those kinda trusting/DIY/anarcho punk scenes there were always a few cunts who had no problem abusing other peoples trust. |
You really can't put a lot of faith in a punk rock scene. Its a pretty "dog eat dog" world. Most punks I've known were out for #1(other than the wishy-washy hippie punk wannabes). My advice would to keep on truckin and a little less nieve.

Hah, I see where you are coming from, but you've got it all wrong. At least here in Idaho, our scene is tight and we have no problem with local bands. The Pyrate Punx function like a promotional group, to put it simply, not everyone involved is the super anarcho, DIY, "I wear more belts than you" type. The Pyrate Punx bands (or at least most of them) try to dissolve the super destructive stereotypes of punk rockers in general. It's pretty big globally, and worth checking out if you are into that sort of thing. Chances are you have a chapter near you! |
I think even if you were a part of a group of barbershop quartets, you would have encountered a similar problem. The world is full of backstabbers and malicious jerks. I'm really sorry that happened to you.

Oh yeah, too bad about your gear. Sounds like a bunch of useless little tossers trying to hard to be 'punk'. Punk was always about the disenfranchised banding together to attack the establishment, not banding together then sneakily fucking up eachothers shit... if memory serves. Finally, if you're a big punk fan, I got to see The Damned last year in Belfast. Dave Vanian and Capt. Sensible were there but no Rat Scabies. :( |
@swiss tony: The Damned, thats pretty rad...
It wasn't even a competition...the dudes who wrecked our gear were self admitted tweakers.... |
To be honest it doesn't sound as if they were musicians at all, just bored little twerps with one too many beers under the belt. I know it's hard but try to stay positive here. At least you had your gig and people liked it, and that's more than what many bands out there get.
As for postponing the album, just remember that 'Chinese Democracy' was years past its original release date when it first came out and we all know that album was worth the wait. ^^ |
I think it's a little unfair to draw any comparisons with what his band will produce and Chinese Democracy. I'm sure it'll be much better than that:)

Chinese Democracy and that Slash album were a fucking embarrassment.

The lot of you deaf and dumb? My condolances. ;)
|
After the one and only time I listened to Chinese Democracy I immediately regretted not being deaf and considering I actually bought that album from i-tunes, you could definitely say that was dumb. So, I'll let you be the judge:D
