I saw this in the cinema when i was a kid:
http://dozenroses13.files.wordpress....erman-gang.jpg There have been some good dogs in horror films too: Beauty and the Beast in The Hills have Eyes The dogs in Humongous and a guard Dog kills Wilbur Whateley in The DUnwich Horror (though this scene didn't make it to either film). and the saddest movie ever made: http://0.tqn.com/d/dogs/1/0/v/3/0/-/...gueDogs-PG.jpg |
Though the dog wasn't evil - the image with the mask is great in Mephisto Waltz.

The Plague Dogs looks like the sort of movie that would traumatize children for life. I watched Watership Down when I was a child and still get seriously freaked out at the mere mention of the story.

Those who think CGI is ruining horror need to watch DevilDog a dozen times:

Out of curiosity, I recently watched Watership Down and was fairly surprised at how graphic it was, but I definitely enjoyed it. I've always liked how depressing older cartoon movies could be.
As far as evil dogs though, the one that always jumps to the top of my head would be Jed The Thing. A good dog that comes to mind would be Blood from A Boy and his Dog. |
The doberman's from The Boys From Brazil.
