What classic hits do you love/hate?
**Edit- Sorry mod for wrong forum. I'm tired -.-
Not bands, not songs in general, the hits. Like if you were to turn on your area's classic hit station and listen non stop all day (which is what I do at work and the reason why I ask). Which songs do you love, and which do you hate? Currently at work I can't wait to hear Peter Frampton's 'Do You Feel Like We Do' because it's fun to whistle and work to. Also love when they play Heart because it sounds great outside. I've also always liked Bad Moon Rising by CCR, i'm not sure why. I've liked it since I was a little kid. Maybe because it's somewhat of a horror song? Lola by the Kinks Finally, Renegade by Styx has been a favorite at work as well. I however, dread when Boston comes on lately. I can't stand their vocal style, it just drones into you. Further, I can;t stand 'Maggie Mae' anymore. I find it to be obnoxious. |
My bar plays only classic rock so certain songs ill dread cause it reminds me of a certain time during shifts. Pink Floyd for example i cant stand at work cause it always slow...bar crowd and song wise. I always love CCR cause its upbeat and also i think The Big Lobowski has alot to do with it. The dude abides!

I love CCR especially Midnight Special
I'm always stoked when Skynyrd comes on and 60s stuff like The Animals tune It's My Life |
Yeah, I'm big on CCR, too.
Um, I have to say I get pumped over Supertramp's "Take the Long Way Home". |

These classic rock hits always seem to be highly regarded, but I just seem to wince when they come on (I think it's a combination of being overrated and/or overplayed)
Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin Layla - Derek And The Dominoes Hotel California - The Eagles American Pie - Don McLean |
I LOVE Layla and American Pie.
I can't stand when Ramblin'Man comes on though. |

My husband and son go to a lot of rock concerts together (I don't tend to go because I couldn't think of a worse fate for a 15 year old boy than to go to a rock concert with his Mom). They're going to see Peter Frampton/Yes at Jones Beach.
I'm not really a Peter Frampton fan, but I would be very disappointed if he didn't break out the talking guitar.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDn2lbIltHM P.S. I totally agree with you on Boston and Maggie May. |

Snow Patrol is not classic rock, please try again.
Bob Seger- Against the Wind One of my favorites today. Came on as we were packing up and the sun was starting to set, and fit perfectly. |

I used to fucking hate Van Halen but now I listen to the first album and 1984 a bunch. I still think Eruption is total poser bullshit tho
Heard Dream On by Aerosmith on the radio today that's one of my all time favorite classic rock tunes. |
my favorite classic rock song is probably the ledge by fleetwood mac, my favorite classic song... hmm I love please, mr postman by the marvelettes
|
I love She's Not There by the Zombies. I hate Daytripper, the Stones version of Satisfaction (I've just heard better) and Love Her Madly by the Doors. As for Van Halen, there's a lot of good stuff they've done. Runnin' with the Devil, Me Wise Magic and...I like Jump. I hear it and I recognise it as crap but it doesn't stop me from feeling good when I hear it, the same way I feel when I hear I Come From the Land Down Under by Men at Work or Faith by George Michael.

love love love classics I hate? anything by the eagles or led zeppelin for starters |
Enough time has gone by that now music from the hair bands is considered classic rock. Having lived through this craze, I can't begin to tell you how much I hated it; in particular the token ballad every hair band felt necessary to do.
Off the top of my head, songs I really hated: Cherry Pie - Warrant The Final Countdown - Europe Living On A Prayer - Bon Jovi Every Rose Has Its Thorn - Poison Here I Go Again - Whitesnake |
I like Led Zeppelin, CCR, Iron Butterfly, George Thorogood, Derick and the Domonoes (Layla), only cause it is what they played in the movie Good Fellas, when the one couple got their heads blown off in the Cadilliac.) There are others, naturally I can't think of them right now. I'll get back to you all soon.
