not sure how good the sequel will be |
Got a big write up in Rue Morgue Magazine this month. My boyfriend actually told me about it before I read the article and based on the description I assumed that it was a Japanese movie... Reminds me a bit of Visitor Q; not the content, but the fact that the director is clearly out there to shock the audience... Plus he mentioned that he's a huuuuuuuuuuuge Miike fan, which isn't a surprise.
Anyway. It's currently on Comcast On Demand. I'm reeeeeeeeeally super curious about it, but don't think I can watch it... Look... digusting... Zwoti - What did you think of it? Here's the official trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wmTv2nqTHo Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (I am really fascinated by this movie though) |
You missed my review- I was the first here to see it.
http://www.horror.com/forum/showpost...ostcount=32105 That's right, you young turks, the old man beat all of you to it. This is not an upcoming movie- it's in release and available via on demand. |
Sounded interesting, but the acting looks like shit and the story looks super convoluted but I can't really say without watching it I suppose.

I think they should have made it a Celebrity Reality Show instead. |

Takashi Miike; Human Centipede. Sounds like a winner to me!!
|
It looks interesting. I know they are in the makes of a sequel with possibly 12 people as the centipede. I really want to see this.

Hey- it's more of a review than Zwoti gave.
I liked it. It teeters on the edge of black comedy, just because of the whole conceit it's built upon. |

It still looks wild though. Roger Ebert's review makes it look more intriguing than ever. |

different people have different tastes, thing to do is find people with similar tastes and get their opinions. alas, i fear, there is no-one with my tastes around any more. |
Obvious review is obvious

So according to CNN.com, this is the "Most Disturbing Movie Ever Made."
http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/Movi...ex.html?hpt=T2 Ok. I’m not surprised that it’s getting that kind of reaction from critics, but “Most disturbing movie ever made”? I see them mentioning “Saw” and “Hostel,” but what about “Visitor Q,” “Tetsuo,” “Blue Velvet,” and “Itchi the Killer”? I think that it should be appended to read “The most disturbing movie ever made… That has gotten even remotely popular attention.” Thoughts? I mean, it’s clearly grotesque, but grotesque cinema is nothing new… Why is it this film that’s getting all the attention? Why not any of the above mentioned predecessors? Presumably the former weren’t really watched which might beg the question: Why are we watching this type of movie now? |
Right place at the right time?
|
Does anyone know if this movie is going to get wide release?
|
Oh God, critics make us seems like such deranged people for enjoying this kind of thing. That CNN article was not cool. Horror films = Two Girls, One Cup. I'm sorry, what? Curiosity, sure. I get that, but the trailer and everything I have seen, read and heard about Human Centipede doesn't look that out of the norm for horror movies. Crazy doctor/scientist makes creatures/monsters out of various body parts from several people. Where have I seen that before? I'm not going to pretend the trailer didn't make me a bit sick to my stomach but can using your imagination alone take a movie from being mildly disturbing at most, to "Most disturbing movie ever made"?
|
I still haven't seen Visitor Q,” “Tetsuo,” “Ichi the Killer” or this new sensation "HC". But the films that I like to call disturbing is Oldboy & Inside; at this moment I can't recall any other films...sorry. Yesterday saw The STONING OF SORAYA M. which I found also very disturbing. But I don't like to call Saw, Eden Lake & Hostel as a Dist. film, they are solid entertainer or at least tries to be entertaining to its audience.
Anyway, first need to see this film asap, then I can comment about it but it seems the statement is pretty "overrated" to me.;) |
It isn't tthe most disturbing, but the analogy connecting it to two girls one cup is somewhat apt. I'm not going to say any more because I don't want to give away any plot points....

to be honest for me, I could really careless about this movie, the overall idea an concept of this movie just dumb, sure it's "Original" I guess...but I don't want stupid original movies I want to see some good original movies..this movie just seems like someone with to much free time on ther hands an there head up there own ass..really haha
|
I want to check it out just because it sounds different. Maybe a slightly ridiculous premise, but I've seen worse.
I was going to check it out with On Demand, but decided I'd wait and get it cheaper through NetFlix when it's available. Actually, I'm really looking forward to seeing it. I won't judge it until I see it. It may be a great, twisted flick. |
Finally saw this movie. Hardly the "most disturbing movie" CNN said it was, but gruesome nonetheless. I enjoyed it.
