Biggest Game for Canada
 

For those of you who have no interests in sports, especially hockey please forgive me but you need to understand one thing.....tonight, Feb. 24, 2010 will be the BIGGEST hockey game in Canadian history since the 1972 summit games. Let me explain:

1.Canada Invented hockey
2.Canada is amazing at hockey
3.Russia thinks they are better than Canada in Hockey
4.We beat Russia in 1972 best out of 7 to claim bragging rights.
5.Ever since then Russia talks smack saying they still are better.

Whats happening tonight? The best NHL Canadian Players playing on the same team against the Best NHL/Russian Elite League players playing on the same team. Crosby Vs Ovechkin.

What also makes this huge is the fact that neither team is getting paid to play. They are playing for passion, for pride, for the love of the game. You RARELY see that...... This game will be the biggest broadcast in Canadian history. Just thought I'l share this with you all for those who might be able to catch the game tonight, 7:30pm eastern time. It will be ....epic.

I'm not even much of a sports guy, but I'm fucking pumped for this.

Would have been more exciting had Canada not lost to the (young) USA team. Oh, and Crosby is a dirty good for nothing. That is all.

I have never cheered like I did last night for all 7 goals! It never got old scoring against the Russians! I was the happiest person in Montreal and I never felt so proud. Even driving this morning out on the streets I saw peoples life's; moving, living, breathing knowing that we defended our title against the Russians...but...

Now our goal is to get to the Americans :D I will admit, it won't be easy because of two words...

Ryan Miller

I am scared to shit to play him because he's the best goalie in the tournament. If anything it's not the team that will beat Canada, it would be Ryan Miller but we shall see. You guys(USA) have some hot snipers that can get the job done. Lets hope both of our teams meet for the gold medal. That's gonna be epic :)

Watching it on a Swedish channel and you would think, by the shouts from the two commentators, the Swedish hockey team had just scored the winning goal. :D Funny funny.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys:). I really appreciate that. Although once upon a time Canada was thought to be the only hockey power, we now share the title with many countries especially the USA. I know Sweden, Finland, Czech, and Russia are hockey powers too and have been for many years, but I'm proud to have the USA finally on top with Canada. I mean the US won titles before, but they were never so powerful like this. I've never seen an American team so fast and dominant. When the US played they were matching Canada a lot of the times. When I look at Ryan Miller I see the next Roy/Brodeur, when I look at Kane I see Ovechkin's speed and movement on the ice. It could have been anyones game yesterday.

Although I was ecstatic for the win, I felt bad for two US participants. The humble and respectful Ryan Miller who never talked trash and had the up-most respect for everyone, and Bryan Burke who created the US team. With Brians passing of his son a few weeks ago just the look of his expression sitting down on the US bench looking at the ground broke my heart. But he should be very proud of beating Canada in the tournament and almost taking the gold from us.

Now that all of that excitement is over, all they Canadian players can come back down to the states and rejoin their American NHL teams. ;)

I was down on robson and burrard when canada won, it was pretty retarded. my boyfriend and I were trying to go through, but it was impossible and we had to go down a block to get by after. they had vans set up with screens/speakers etc.

I got up to have my breaky and this game was on with 9 minutes to go....

I made my breakfast and sat down and sudden death was about to start. I was going for Canada , so glad they won.... it was a nice way for them to finish the games. I looked at the match as if cricket was in the olympics and it came down to England V Australia.

*lol*...let us know when England and Australia play....that would be cool to watch :).
