Horrible things that happened under recording of horror movies?

Do you know any horror movies where the most unusual things happened under recording of horror movies?

Steve_Hutchison 04-14-2004 07:51 AM

GorePhobia 04-14-2004 08:15 AM

Plissken 04-14-2004 09:39 AM

Some people were killed or nearly killed when they made The Omen

jay o2 waster 04-14-2004 09:50 AM

I heard about that too.

HappyCamper 04-14-2004 11:25 AM

Yeah i had read, that the young boy during the scene with the monster tree, nearly suffocated to death.

Machine King 04-14-2004 01:28 PM

Brandon Lee died during The Crow.

SFF 04-14-2004 04:38 PM

9 people died during filming of The Exorcist.

Other strange things happened as well. ie: The set catches on fire when nobody is there, props falling on people, Bill Friedkin going bananas and shooting off his gun and so on.

Sam The Egg 04-14-2004 04:41 PM

it's not horror, but Jim Cavielzel got struck by lightning twice while they were filming Passion of the Christ

I heard about that. All kinds of weird things have been happening as a result of that movie.

Freddy_Krgr 04-26-2004 11:19 AM

Brendon lee (the Crow dude) got shot furing the filming

massacre man 04-26-2004 11:38 AM

also on passion when they were doing a whip scene he got hit but they were real far away from him when they did it

MichaelMyers 04-26-2004 11:41 AM

I think one of the lead actors in the Twilight Zone movie died during a stunt. Was shot with live rounds or something.

massacre man 04-26-2004 11:44 AM

for the poltergeist thing the little boy almost choked during the clown scene they thought he was acting till he turned purple

last bad move 04-26-2004 11:47 AM

i heard the exorcist one. but this ones not horror but in wisard of oz the scarcrow almost died and past out because lack of air because his suit was to tight, i also heard that someone hung themselfs. and if you look closly in the part where the trees are throwing apples you can see him.

p.s. i never have seen it but if some has can they tell me it is.

McDonnyDude666 04-26-2004 11:58 AM

They finished Underworld and thats a horrible thing.

nine9 04-26-2004 12:29 PM

Twilight zone

Vic Morrow was killed by the helicopter during the Vietnam scene in Twilight.

I've heard of most of these things, but the Poltergeist one is the weirdest because of the kid's involved. What was up with that. I could never picture the little girl growing up. She had an odd look.
I can't remember how she died though, gotta look it up. Anyone remember?

Rotting Eye 04-26-2004 12:48 PM

Some cursed movies.

http://www.freewebs.com/decayingmindsarticletcf/

I don't believe in them myself as curses, more like coincidence... but who knows. I think people just make a bigger deal out of deaths on horror sets, because they're, well... horror.

Just like how those people that had heartattacks while watching The Passion were all over the news. Why? Because it was during The Passion.

Stuff like this happens more than it's publicized, but it's only made publicized when it's surrounding odd circumstances.

nine9 04-26-2004 01:05 PM

Great site!

Thanks Rotting Eye for the great link!

A lot of that I hadn't heard. Gotta pass it on.

I'll believe in anything just for the fun of it, well almost anyway.......

munchkin

I watched the clip but don't see much. Only a little movement. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place.

Interesting though. Too bad, the rumor was a good one. Well, not for the Munchkin.

It's like the mystery of the little girl who was killed in the Barnum and Bailey circus fire. It was more interesting when n one knew who she was. I read in the paper a while back that they finally identified her. Wish some things would stay a mystery!

Heh, I heard that it never happened

nine9 04-27-2004 10:32 AM

True

Gotta go back to work, but look up Little Miss 1565. You will find all kinds of sites on the mystery, the fire, and her family.

I did some searching here but have to go back later.

Bye for now!

the tin man was meant to be played by someone else, but he had a bad reaction to the silver paint so they had to get someone new. and the hanging munchin. was just a huge bird walking around in the background a emu i think it was...there was no sucicides on the set. but i hear there was a lot of sucicdes after on though

Holy old thread bat man

knife_fight 11-19-2004 05:45 PM

I can't believe that no one has mentioned the "ghost" in the scary-in-a-different-way movie, "Three Men and a Baby." Or the "ghost" on film in "Waiting for Guffman."
Neither of these movies are horror, and I think "Waiting for Guffman" is about the best in the Christopher Guest mockumentary series, but they are strange happenings and urban legends captured on film.

just to make the obvious joke: "Isn't that scarier than a real ghost?"

But aside from that, who cares if it was a picture of fucking Ted Danson??? To me, it will always be a ghost.

urgeok 11-25-2004 08:33 AM

the most horriible possible thing that ever happened during the filming of a horror movie was in House of the Dead ...

the cameras worked.

HappyCamper 11-25-2004 08:33 AM

i can't remember the title of the film, but it's not really horror...but

two young children and an actor were killed during the shooting of a Vietnam War scene in which a Helicopter, went down and the blades from the copter scrapneled decapiting the two children and the actor. It was a John Landis film, that's all I can remember about it.

urgeok 11-25-2004 08:34 AM

that was mentioned earlier .. vic morrow was decapitated by a helicoptor blade while filming The Twilight Zone
