The First Ever Mighty HDC Survival Crysis
It is the night of Halloween. All of HDC is busy celebrating and trick-r-treating with their families at a favorite HDC member's house-party. Kids run around everywhere, with some of them bursting firecrackers and others happily munching on candy, chatting excitedly between them. Zero looks outside the window and sighs once. He looks back into the room, where the party is in full swing, and walks over to the shelf on the corner, on top of which a big diamond-studded crown rests. He looks forlornly at it for a second. "Don't forget that I have one of those at my home too, old buddy," a voice booms from behind him, over the loud blaring of the music system. Scouse Mac walks over with a smile. "You miss it, eh?" "Sometimes," Zero replies. "I really wanted to be in it the second time and defend this," he points at the crown. "Guess I'll never get the chance now..." His voice trails off. A huge, booming voice fills the entire room for a few seconds. "GIMME THAT BEER!" Both turn around sharply towards the hall. Newb grabs the 6-pack out of Elvis Christ's hands and snatches it away. "Git some more for yoself, boy!" he laughs at Elvis, who frowns back. "He never changed, did he?" Doc Faustus murmurs. "Everything in the world can change, except Newb and his love for beer, and...," Rayne turns and looks at the couch. An old, scowling gentleman with long silver hair sits on it with a big grumpy expression on his face. "Neverending, indeed," Dude Guadalupe replies back with a slight shake of his head. "My my...you are looking lovely tonight," Urgeok beams with a slightly mischevious smile at Hammerfan and winks, across the room. Hammerfan blushes slightly. "Psh...you are making a middle-aged lady blush!" "Remember you still owe me that wet T-shirt picture," Urgeok says with a raised voice. Hammerfan gives a start, startled for an instant. She looks around and glares at Urgeok, who smiles and shakes his head. "Don't worry. With this sort of din they can't hear anything I say." "So what's all this talk about wet T-shirts?" Chronogrl raises a quizzical eyebrow towards Hammerfan as she walks over. Outside the house, a firecracker goes off with a loud boom. "Hell yeah! That's more like it!" Dante's Inferno punches the air. "Pffft! Dante, mine was much louder, admit it," Ferretchucker teases. "Sooner or later I m gonna beat that. You just wait and see," Dante says determinedly. Just then, a boy comes fast at them on his bmx. He jumps off at the last second and doubles over, severely short of breath and panting breathlessly. "Dude, you look like you just saw a ghost," Ferret says to the newcomer. "What gives?" "I don't... k-k-know... wha-t-tt I sa-w-ww...," Massacre Man says in-between long breaths. "But-tt... it sure wasn-tt prett-y... MOVE!" he yells and shoves Dante aside. "Heyyyy what the fu-?" Dante screams as he is thrown to one side. "Sorry. I need to talk to uncle Urgeok this instant!" Massacre Man replies and runs through the door. Dante shakes his head and looks at Ferret, who stares back at him. Massacre Man walks into the room which is filled with loud music blaring out from the speakers of the music system, and suddenly stops. His jaw drops and his eyes stop blinking. The room is empty! "DON'T LE-TTTT THEMMMMMM TAKEEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEEE...!" a voice yells from the corner and Massacre dashes towards it, just in time to see Ferox13 disappear into a big circle of thick, black, wispy smoke. The Coke can which he is holding falls on the floor with a clatter. Massacre rubs his eyes in disbelief at what he just saw. He turns around to make a run upstairs when a loud scream from outside almost freezes his blood. He jumps towards the door and runs outside. Ferret stands pointing towards the trees, shaking in sheer fright. Massacre follows his gaze, and sees Dante disappear into a thick cloud of smoke. Suddenly, all is silent. Ferret slowly turns towards Massacre, who looks back with fear and puzzlement. A small whiff of cold air engulfs both of them at almost the same instant. A look of sudden terror runs through both of their eyes and they start screaming as they disappear into the black cloud of smoke. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...avi/banner.jpg It begins NOW! |

Welcome to HDC Survival Crysis, folks.
All of HDC has been overtaken by the most powerful entity of all three known worlds, Aonyōbō. You have been chosen to free HDC from her clutches. But be warned, only ONE of you will survive till the end and be the sole HDC Crysis Savior! Aonyōbō's world is a strange one. Oddly shaped like a huge island, it is covered by seas of flames on all sides which burn continuously at her command. Needless to say, if you stumble upon a path which leads to the seas, you will be burned alive! There are several paths that lead to her darkest chambers, and each one of you must proceed forward to confront the many minions which roam the areas - odd-shaped creatures, monsters manifesting from your own deepest fears, mutations, zombies and more zombies. The final confrontation will be with Aonyōbō herself. Pray that you are sufficiently prepared by then to take on her, otherwise she will have your soul. Only by defeating her, you will be able to free HDC from her clutches. You have to choose a Race and Class first. Of course, each Race and Class comes with its unique set of Attributes which add up when you first spawn into your PC (Player Character). Each PC can go up through FIVE levels - obviously, the 5th and Highest Level will be the most powerful one. There are twists in this too, but I will explain them when they come. All of you will be divided into TWO teams, and will enter the island from separate paths. Challenges will be individual, and team-wise. If you fail an individual challenge, your PC will be affected. If you fail a team challenge, YOUR PC will be affected, NOT the team. Plenty of weapons, items, bonuses, traps, healthkits and other stuff are dotted all around the island. Picking them up will boost your PC and make you a bit more powerful in your Attributes. But you have to keep a few things in mind :- - Picking up or choosing anything and everything which you come across will be disastrous. Some items, bonuses or stuff can actually take away from your PC. So be slightly careful and choosy when you pick something. Luck will play a role here. - You can carry a maximum of THREE weapons only, at any given time. If you come across a fourth weapon, you have to dump one of the three you already have with you. - Your PC depends a lot on his/her attributes. Shortage/Nil in any ONE attribute can be extremely hazardous to your PC. Be sure to keep all attributes inside points you can control your PC with. - You can have a maximum of 100 in each attribute. Once an attribute is maxed out, you cannot add to it any more till you lose some points for that attribute. - Bio-armor boosts your Health attribute separately. Unfortunately, it is very rare. Keep an eye out for that. - Your PC will behave according to the attributes it gets in the Race/Class choices. Special Abilities are added only after getting the items, bonuses or separate stuff. You will be notified accordingly. That's all for now. I will keep the notifications coming according to the in-game situations. I will list the attributes of each Race now. You may proceed to choose your Race accordingly. I won't go into details for your Classes though. You choose them from the list, I will add them to your PC's Race attributes and post your PC's complete identity which you have to carry in your signature. Ferretchucker is the Official HDC Survival Crysis Signature Maker. He will mint a solid signature for you, if you wish so. Here we go... Races Human - Strength - 6, Ability - 4, Speed - 6, Health - 7, Sanity - 5. Elf - Strength - 5, Ability - 6, Speed - 7, Health - 4, Sanity - 6. Dwarf - Strength - 4, Ability - 6, Speed - 5, Health - 6, Sanity - 7. Gnome - Strength - 7, Ability - 5, Speed - 4, Health - 6, Sanity - 6. Hobbit - Strength - 6, Ability - 7, Speed - 6, Health - 5, Sanity - 4. Classes Fighter, Occultic, Stealth, Warrior, Psychic. So go ahead, and choose. If you fail to choose by the time registration is over, I ll choose randomly for your PC. |
I'm in, now just to find out what I just got in on.
|
Welcome aboard, Mass! Oh you are gonna love this!!
Rules and Guidelines of HDC Survival Crysis Each PC will start off with a default weapon, since combat is integral to Crysis. Healing is restricted to Health Kits and special Medkits which you can acquire in your advancement. The power of each weapon will be determined by the Class of the PC who wields it. So keep an eye out for that Update. This is what happens when you go low/nil on any particular Attribute - Strength - You cannot lift your weapons anymore. You cannot walk forward. You slump to the ground where your last position is and die a very slow death. (or a merciful one, if any dark creature chances upon you) Ability - Your special abilities are gone. Your normal abilities are restricted/nullified. You may find yourself a sitting duck if/when a battle breaks out. Speed - You cannot move freely. All movement is restricted to walking only. You cannot escape from bigger creatures who bear down upon you. You may find yourself a sitting duck if/when a battle breaks out. Health - This is the most critical Attribute of all. If you lose all health you will die. No ifs, no buts. Sanity - Losing sanity will, you guessed it, make you go insane. Slowly or rapidly, it will depend on your sanity points. Losing all Sanity will make you permanently insane and totally unpredictable. You might end up bashing your own brains in or shooting yourself in the head, whichever happens first. Point to Note - You will find several items which will boost each of those 5 Attributes of your PCs from time to time. Keep an eye out for those and choose wisely. Your choices will either make or break your PC. Combat depends on the situation, weapon(s) in hand, opponents and PCs. If you are facing a strong opponent, you are most likely to lose plenty of Attribute points unless you have a KO weapon/Special Ability. Though in many cases, Special Abilities might weaken an opponent only. Still, you might have to use that multiple times to overcome a challenging opponent. Be warned - Special Abilities WILL drain your Attributes. There are PLENTY of items scattered around the island. They could be combat enhancements, new and improved weapons, Spells, Medkits...even common, everyday stuff which look quite ordinary but could be of immense help. Don't judge an item by its looks - many a time it could turn out to be a life saver. The reverse also applies. There are items lying around which will negate you too. Maybe chew away your weapons, drain your Attribute points, etc. They are pretty unpredictable in their nature. Of course, it will all depend on luck...and your choices. Special Bonus stages and Award Bonuses are also plenty. Clear a Bonus stage and win any/all Bonuses in that stage for yourself. Sometimes you might just stumble in a Bonus pack (how lucky would THAT be!), and sometimes you might have to fight tooth and nail for one. If a rival team member chances upon the Bonus pack(s), you might even have to fight him/her! Teamwork, although not imperative in Survival Crysis, is important. It will help you in keeping more team-members alive because that increases your chances of advancement into the final Stages. There are Boss levels (yes you read that right!) that would require co-operation between Team members to overcome the Boss(es). Taking on a Boss by yourself WILL prove to be a FATAL mistake. Also, your choice of a team member (or members) will also be crucial in deciding the fate of a Boss battle. Make any wrong choices...you and your chosen Team members will lose, and ultimately die, at the hands of a Boss. Normal combats will be dependent on your PC's stats and weapons. Be mindful of who you are facing at all times. Analysis of a situation, taking all choices into account, and giving the right answers...they are your mantras for success. All the best to everyone! |
Count me in.I think it'll be a blast.

|

|
How could I say no with an intro like that?
|
"Reports have been pouring in about multiple disappearances of several people in and around USA and Canada. Eye-witnesses swear that they "just simply vanished into a black cloud of smoke". Your guess is as good as mine...truth or make-believe? The only known link established so far between all of them is that they were all members of a very popular internet website. Only recently, some of them had made personal contact with each other and had planned a big Halloween get-together. Police claim..." "Turn off the TV! I am trying to concentrate on my math here," The Return raises his voice. "Didn't our HDC friends plan a rendezvous recently?" MissMacabre asks thoughtfully, lowering the TV's volume. Return puts his pencil down. "They did, and they didn't invite us," he replies. "So I have stopped caring for them." "You know that's not true," MissM says. "You can never stop caring about __V__. He's your best friend there." "The sole exception, except you," Return says quietly. "Give me my cell. I need to make a call." MissM gets up and walks towards the desk. Just then, Return's cell starts ringing. "It's Alkytrio666!" MissM says excitedly. Return gets up and grabs the cell from MissM's hands. "Hello, Alky." "Return! Did you call V yet?" "I was just going to. Why?" "The stuff they just showed on TV...it's true! I called up Fortunato at least 5-6 times but no one's answering back. I don't have the number of his home. Then I tried Jenna26 but she didn't pick her cell up either. Something weird is going on!" Alky sounds alarmed. "Meh...probably they have all ganged up for a big Halloween joke on us, Alky. Don't lose your socks just yet. Let me call V first." Return looks at MissM calmly. "You know I usually don't. But this...I don't know. I just have a very bad feeling right now. If only I had V's number!" Alky's voice starts to crack. "I will text you his number after I am done calling to him. Don't panic, Alky. I am sure there's a perfectly logical explanation to all of this. MissM is here visiting me. I'll discuss this with her and call you back." "Okay. I will wait for your call." Return looks at MissM again. "That bad?" MissM asks in a worrying voice. "I hope not," Return replies and speed-dials a number on his cell. "I'll get us some more beers," MissM walks out of the room into the kitchen. Return bites his lower lip thoughtfully, as the cell at the other end keeps ringing. The ringing doesn't stop. Return tries V's number repeatedly but it keeps ringing like before. Nobody answers back. What the hell is going on, Return wonders. He puts his cell down and walks towards the kitchen. "Get me a normal one, MissM. No chilled stuff." No reply comes back. Return shrugs and sits down at his table, and picks up his pencil again. He looks at the opposite wall and starts thinking. A small wave of chilly air grips at his ankles. He jumps up and looks down. A small gist of black smoke starts protruding from the floor, which increases in size and engulfs his legs and lower body. "MISSM!" Return yells in sudden, deep fear. The smoke covers him completely and Return starts screaming. No sound can be heard as he disappears into it and the last tufts of black smoke mingle into thin air. In the kitchen, the fridge is open and two beer cans roll on the floor, unopened. |
Only gripe - the day I start giving a fuck about math is the day I'll start praying to mysteriously disappear :p
Seriously though, I'm getting pretty intrigued. |

Welcome aboard, NE & Fort! |
OMG, I LOVE that intro!!!
Okay, this is where I admit that I haven't read past the very first post yet, but I want in, if there's still time I'm gonna try to read the rest of the thread now (well...after I check my PMs) :p |
Rayne!!!!!!!!! Hey darling! :)
You are SOOOO gonna love this. Welcome aboard! |

|
Oh what the hell, count me in.
I guarantee nothing though. |
Dude!!! Welcome aboard!
|
Oh Hai ^__^
This sounds interesting. |
Alex said he'll play (I'm pretty sure it's mainly because he absolutely loves the storylines ;))...But, He can't stop texting long enough to sign in right now...
OH!...And I just realized that neither Dustin, me, nor Alex have EVER played a human race...Sub-human, mutant or hybrid - yes, but not full human (unless you consider undead to be human)...And we always play dark side...I found that interesting :) |
No worries. Invitation is in his box. I ll post his name as soon as I get his confirmation.
And what about Seri? There will be 5 races - Human is one of em. Of course, each race has its own special Attributes. 5 Classes too. No Advantages/Disadvantages. Class Levels and Races are good enough to give an idea about what one can/cannot do, plus it helps keeping things from getting complicated. The detailed post regarding that will come after Chapter 3, sometime around Noon EST. |
If I was going to participate in this I would have to read what you wrote and all that and I so can't be bothered....
|

Of course! I was waiting for a confirmation, young lady. :p

@V: She didn't know if she was supposed to wait for an invitation in her PM box...I told her just to post that she wanted to play...She's upstairs now watching House |
She is a part of Crysis now. Confirmation for Alex?
And welcome aboard, Manchestr! I will extend the total number, if enough people are interested to give it a go. |

I'll get him in here as soon as he comes back down |
Wow! HDC's changed alot, since I last signed in. I didn't even know how to get here. Forgot my password and everything. But I do wanna play though. :3
|
Psst Alex...blame your Mom for that. She's been sneaking around under your name, so I m sure she changed all that stuff. ;)
And yeah, I didnt tell you that. :p |
Waiting for that black smoke thing.
