Worst of the worst of this decade

...as compiled by Rotten Tomatoes.

Thoughts?

Ferox13 10-04-2009 10:43 AM

Wow i only seen 3 of those and I go to the cinema a lot - House of the Dead - The Fog and Rollerball - All pretty bad except HOTD which was worse than bad.

MyraHindley 10-04-2009 05:00 PM

The One Missed Call remake is number 2, eh? I mean, yeah it was bad, but worse than Big Momma's House 2!? Come on now. These all deserve their fate on this list, but I think the ordering could be better.

neverending 10-04-2009 05:43 PM

The list is completely invalid because Norbit's not on there. I mean, Eddie Murphy won TWO Golden Turkeys for acting in that film.

Clockwork Black 10-04-2009 06:17 PM

Im proud to say Ive only seen one of those.

It was House of the Dead.

Which means there are movies worse than Norbit out there.

I remember watching North and wondering if there will ever be a movie worse than that one.

Got my answer a few years later - The Village.

neverending 10-04-2009 08:19 PM

There are much better films than Norbit on that list.

psycho d 10-05-2009 05:13 AM

Pretty impressive list of movies i have never heard of, let alone seen. The only one i had watched was Bloodrayne, and i knew going in that it would not win any awards. i actually enjoyed it for what it was worth. Ashe.
derek

roshiq 10-05-2009 11:09 PM

Where's The Happening?!?

peculiar list anyway.

How did you even end up seeeing it?

neverending 10-06-2009 12:30 AM

I work on movie marketing... I'm very intimate with a number of the more mainstream titles on that list.

urgeok2 10-06-2009 02:58 PM

year one was the worst movie i've seen in a lot of years.

transformers 2 wasnt far behind.

how is it possible to make a movie about giant robots that dull ?

Clean, Shaven 10-06-2009 05:51 PM

Wow, I haven't even heard of a lot of the movies on that list.

I liked Battlefield Earth. I genuinely enjoyed it. I would like for there to be a sequel. I'm being serious.

Lost Souls was shockingly bad to be so awesome looking.

I only glimpsed the list, but I think Taking Lives should be on it. Such a cool premise raped to death by Angelina Jolie's retarded acting and a stoopid script.

Diaboli 10-08-2009 04:00 AM

Soroity Row, easily. Everything thats wrong with the genre in one movie.

DeluzioNFX 10-10-2009 11:43 PM

that list was beyond terrible..

Really? I thought Strange Wilderness was funny enough and Serving Sara made me laugh at parts.

I do agree with Glitter, HotD, and Fear(DOT)Com but this list is missing some pretty epic movie fails, such as:

Creep Show 3
Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus
Antichrist
...just to name a couple.

Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus was loads of fun - what else could you expect from a title like that..

Antichrist was ok-ish - far from the worst of the decade.

That film was 110% pure monkey-shit! It completely lacked ANYTHING of value... It's entire purpose was to make the audience say "Ewww!" and that's it. Two Girls, One Cup achieved the same goal in 3minutes of film and 1/2000th the budget... Antichrist is a testament to how idiotic the world's film-student has become. I rate Necromantik higher than I do that shamble.

....Female castration?!?! That's where the genre has gone, eh? Pathetic....

I honestly didn't expect too damn much from that movie, and realized it would be a sub-par experience, but that still doesn't save it from sucking. It's good for a laugh... but sadly it's the laugh of pity.

I like Nekromantik and I wouldn't really consider Antichrist a 'genre' film.

As for no redeeming values at all - i would definally say thecinematography was excellent in parts (though over done in others) and I though William Defoe was great in it.

I really can't understand that this film has the same depth as a Scatological Porn film (though I must admit to not having see the film you named)

I am a Willem Defoe fan, but why he took this part is beyond me... This movie fakes artistic depth by grotesque violence as the vehicle. It's a juvenile approach at creating a film with "meaning"...
I wish I was able to find something worth enjoying about it, like you did. :(
I would view it again, but the images are still fresh on my mind... too fresh to be precise.

Dylan Bank 10-18-2009 10:26 AM

I think "Stay" might be the worst movie of all time. Something about its pompous ambition really rubbed me the wrong way with a cheesegrater.

p1zl3 10-18-2009 12:58 PM

I caught Haunting of Winchester House last night and I must say, that film had the worst acting, special effects, story, and final plot twist EVER recorded on film... It was potentially, one of the biggest Sixth Sense ripoffs I have ever seen...

Pure kaka!

Lars von Trier is an ass in general. I liked Dancer in the Dark because Bjork is cute and that's it.

--I don't know the guy personally, but from viewing his films, I wouldn't say he's an entire ass... just the hole part. He can frame a shot, but his head is clearly in his ass... the hole part. ;)

I really liked The Idiots and Dogsville.

The Idiots was a perfect example of Trier's works. He has a group of capable (some might say "successful") people imitating the mentally challenged in order to find amusement and meaning in life. They use their ruse to exploit others and manipulate the system for their own benefit... all the while referring to the handicapped people they impersonate as "idiots" and "retards".
This movie had actual filmed sexual penetration scenes (no simulated sex whatsoever). Public nudity with unscripted bystanders (including kids). Verbal aggression towards genuinely handicapped people.... the list goes on.
Von Trier is a Grade-A deuche! I mean, what kinda prick leaves their pregnant wife for the underage family babysitter?!?!? Trier is that kinda prick.

I haven't seen Dogsville yet, but I'll let you know...

Ferox13 10-27-2009 06:36 AM

I do have to agree (from his interviews) he does come across arrogant and assholish..

ferretchucker 10-27-2009 09:05 AM

Sadly, I've seen around 10 of them. Agree with them all...

campblood 11-19-2009 09:23 PM

wow i must like watching s*itty movie because ive seen most of them

BH14 11-20-2009 05:17 AM

Some movies that shouldn't be there are Corky Romano, Twisted and Dragonfly. I thought they were ok movies. I would try to find room for "Boogeyman (2005)". I haven't seen One Missed Call or Ecks vs Sever but I find it hard to believe that it could be worse than Fear Dot Com or House of the Dead. The only good thing about HOTD is the clips of the video game. However, Fear Dot Com is my choice for the worst movie ever. And lets end all these date movie, epic movie, meet the spartans, disaster movie, etc.... Scary Movie 1 & 2 were good but the rest are terrible.

thedarkknight 11-20-2009 01:49 PM

I've seen

Glitter
The New Guy
Good Luck Chuck
Corky Romano
88 Minutes
The Whole Ten Yards
Half Past Dead
Twisted

Out of those they all seem like they belong on their, except I deffinently didn't hate 88 Minutes.

Where's M Night Shamalan? He's gotta grace the list somewhere.

Doc Faustus 11-20-2009 07:34 PM

Where is Catwoman in all this? Turistas? Prom Night remake?

Why? Because of The Happening, Lady in the Water, and The Village?
