What do you want to see explained in Saw 6?

I thought it would be fun to find out what everyone wants to see explained in Saw 6 here goes mine.

What was in the envelope that was left for amanda

How much Jill has been involved with Jigsaws work

What was in the Box left for Jill.

How Hoffman got involved with Jigsaw and why

I am sure there are so many more but I cant think of them right now.

Roderick Usher 07-19-2009 08:25 AM

I wan to know how they can justify yet another installment in a series that should have ended with #3

HostelSaw 07-19-2009 08:36 AM

LOL I actually dont ever want them to end but I know there has to be an end somewhere. There is so much left to explain that they had to do more. I think they are stopping with 6 but atleast it is not like some of the movies that go on and on with no point and become bland.

crabapple 07-19-2009 08:37 AM

I want it explained just what it is they are going to do with my money!

bloody_ribcut 07-19-2009 08:52 AM

never liked the saw films, so i agree with roderick. hell, if it was up to me they wouldnt have even made a part one.

ferretchucker 07-19-2009 09:14 AM

I thought part one was decent.

Then I prefer not to think about the brutal murder of what was good as it was.

Here's a re-enactment of my theory on the genesis of the mysterious Box:

Producer 1: Hmm...you know what? Saw V really isn't turning out too well...

Producer 2: I know...do you think we'll actually be able to make money off another one after this?

Producer 1: Not likely...hey, I know! Let's throw in a huge black box, leave it unexplained and totally unrealated to the series thus far, just to make sure the fans we have left are intrigued enough to see the next one! Of course, then we'll have to figure out what's actually in it, but that can come later.

Producer 2: Do you really think they're that dumb?

Producer 1: We're already up to #5 - what do you think?

fuglystick 07-19-2009 11:01 AM

By Saw III there wasn't any more dead horse to beat. Now they're just smearing the horse paste.

Too bad there are not more Saw fans here, I was hoping this would be interesting topic.

To be fair, the first was an interesting premise, and I think a lot of people here would say it was a decent film. Those same people, however, will say they have REALLY stretched the premise far too thin, and are not interested in seeing the same film over and over based on more and more ludicrous twists and plots. The films have become parody, and not good parody.

So, I hope you can find some folk who share your enthusiasm with the franchise, but you're not likely to find them here. But, if you're willing to explore other films in the genre, there are a great many of knowledgeable folk here. :)

ferretchucker 07-19-2009 01:43 PM

I agree, all it is now are films with ludicrously complex death traps (may I remind you of the giant swinging axe. Seriously, where did he get the materials for these things?) and then a scene at the end where it replays the films events showing extra stuff to reveal a predictable twist.

cheebacheeba 07-19-2009 02:02 PM

Yeah, beyond the third one which I found a little convoluted in itself, I think the storyline has become just, allover the place.
Sure, I wondered what was in the box but I don't really care as even if they do reveal that there'll only be yet another open ended scenario such as this one.

I really enjoyed the first one, and thought the second while different was more than an acceptable follow up.
The third finished up the initial storyline but the whole thing had begun to wear thin with me by then, didn't much like it by comparison.
The fourth had the one "origin" scene that I really liked, but otherwise "whatever". The fifth, was just a mess.
I just watch them to see people get fucked up these days, and precious little else.

The_Return 07-19-2009 03:06 PM

I'll admit: I haven't hated any of them yet. The most recent two have been ultra-convoluted and didn't bring anything new to the table AT ALL. That said, there are far worse horror flicks out there these days - and compared to other slasher sagas, it's holding up DAMN well.

Seriously, by the time Nightmare on Elm Street got to #5 it was pretty awful...Hellraiser was dead at 3...Friday the 13th was still holding up to an extent, but 5 was a step down and 6 was the nail in the casket - compared to these supposed "classics", I think we should be giving Saw more credit.

Still - I wouldn't be overly upset if part 6 was never made. I'll see it when it comes out - and, by comparison, I guess you could say I'm looking forward to it more than most other mainstream/big-budget horror releases this year - but that's only because the there's not a lot on the horizon. It'll be a bearable time waster and might have some decent gore, but I wont expect a lot.

I would enjoy them more if they just took the torture scenes and bunched them up for a nice short 10 minute movies.

Trail_Blazer 07-21-2009 12:02 PM

I love the SAW Series of movies. I think it's one of the best made series of Horror flicks to come out in a long time. I'm interested in the characters and story, not to mention the creative traps to kill people.

I can't wait till part 6 is out - I REALLY want to know what's in that box. I want to know if Hoffman and Jigsaw's wife are/will be working together to carry more dirty deeds out. I want parts 7, 8 and 9 to also be released.

Love these movies!

10minutes ?

I would love your attention span.

Don't get me wrong I like SAW, I thought is was fun sleezy exploitation...and I love exploitation! I just don't follow anything past 3 installments, especially since this one wrapped up so nicely at 3.

I know the writers, they are friends of mine and I wish them well. Go ahead, make as many as the market will bear... but I won;t be bothering with them anytime soon

But it didnt explain the letter :) I want to know what the letter said! :D

massacre man 07-21-2009 09:14 PM

I stopped watching after the third. So if it explained the entire story of the fourth and fifth installments so I wouldn't have to sit through them... I probably still wouldn't see it.

VampiricClown 07-22-2009 07:45 AM

I enjoyed the first and second installments. The third, I wasn't too crazy about, and the other two I don't even remember all that well.

Will I watch it? Eventually. But I feel, that in a way, they are butchering a good thing, with way too many sequels. Originally, it was a unique concept, and something most people weren't used to watching. But now, it has become the norm, and there isn't anything special about the sequels.
