So I came across one "What the F is wrong with people" story on CNN last night that I was going to start a thread about on its own, but then today I came across ANOTHER one so I figured that I could start a thread that could house any and ALL of these stories that might come up in our internet findings...

So, here goes...



Man sucker-punches blind woman on bus

I am not kidding. Man gets on bus. Man pays bus fare. Man then proceeds to PUNCH AN OLD BLIND WOMAN IN THE FACE.

Would-be suicide jumper pushed off bridge

A passerby pushed a would-be suicide jumper off a bridge in southern China because he was angry at the jumper's "selfish activity," Chinese media reported Saturday.

WTF?!

Yeah. It's clear that that guy should be at a bare minimum medicated, if not in a psych ward.

There was this schizophrenic kid who lived down the street from where I live now... Used to tear around shrieking - He was a 5' 6" angry teenager - I was worried that he would just snap and hit someone one day. What's tragic is that, given our poor social system, what would a lower income family do with a kid like that? (I live in a fairly poor neighborhood) Can't necessarily afford hospital care OR medication... What do you do with your mentally ill if you can't afford to take care of them? Made me a bit sad.

That's actually a big problem. It's partially because people don't recognize mental illness as it is, an illness. We can see that shit on certain kinds of brain scans now. We can see OCD and BiPolar disorder I know.

When you're mentally ill, health insurance is a nightmare in the US. I know personally. I had to go on disability just to have health insurance, so I could take medication and go to the damn doctor.

What's really fucked up is that there is a great way to treat OCD. It's called like deep brain stimulation, but the FDA will only approve it for people with Parkinsons disorder. If it makes people well, why not approve it? OCD is a bitch.

TOTALLY true. Depressingly true. And in the worst-case scenario, people wind up on the street - people who could be dangerous both to themselves and other people (as evidence with the blind woman sucker-punch).

Sorry to hear about your own personal trials and tribulations, btw. I had a friend who had to take leave time to treat her bipolar and PTSD disorder and when she got back to work, she was let go. What's even MORE fucked up is that she was working as a social worker FOR social workers, so you'd THINK that her employers would be more understanding.

About your friend... What kind of shit is that? It's typical though. We are so totally stereotyped, especially people with Bipolar (which is what I have) and Schizophrenia. The system is totally fucked, and you can forget about the work place. However, I am going to do my thing.

Was randomly searching through the BBC website and came across a story that had passed me by. Almost wished I hadnt seen it, fucking disgusting. This sort of mindless brutality makes my blood boil.

Three boys arrested in connection with the killing of a newborn deer in a Dorset park have been released on bail.

Three teenagers wearing hoods were seen attacking the fawn in Upton Country Park, near Poole, on Wednesday night. According to an eyewitness, one boy hit the fawn across the head before the group dropped the animal on the ground and took turns stamping on it.

Two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old, all from Poole, were arrested on Monday. Police said inquiries were continuing.

Eyewitness Keith Arthurs said he did not intervene for fear of being attacked himself. Dorset Police have so far received more than 100 calls in connection with the case.

Pc John Snellin, wildlife officer for the force, said they had never had such an "overwhelming" response to a case of this type. The University of California in the US has offered to use DNA analysis to help catch those responsible.

Donors have offered a combined £2,000 reward in an effort to catch the animal's killers. The fawn's body was collected by the RSPCA and taken to Lynwood Vets in Wareham.
