You know what I wish we could be done with? The phrase "torture porn" itself. It's just really aggravating to me. I don't necessarily have a better name for it, but I'm so sick of this phrase.

Other than that, though, I really don't even see that many of these anymore. Are there really that many being made? Maybe they just don't pop up on my radar as I have no interest in these styles of movies for the most part (and I love gore, but I like a little fun in my horror).

I dunno, I used to like "torture porn", but I lost all enjoyment in it when I went and got a conscience a few months back. Can't deal with the content anymore.

torture porn to me is just lame, because it's always bad acting bimbos being tortured.

the whole reason for watching the the movies are the badly acted torture/sex scenes. I like well acted stories, that's why I watch movies. I mean why not just watch some porn and people being tortured instead? the internet is porn and you can find real people being tortured. the victim might not be the latest blonde bombshells, but the acting is superb. ;)

the fact is, people that watch this stuff DON'T LIKE torture.

No i think it was originall more a media invention to further pigeo hole our genre - it was originally used in exactly the same way that 'video nasty' was in the British media back in the 80's.

i didnt realize what rape was about either until i was exposed to all the paul bernardo stuff when it came out.
