Movies you've seen recently

Hey, why not? At least it's topical.
What movies have you seen recently, and what did you think of them?

Arioch 02-15-2004 05:08 PM

The Hole - it was alright, much better than i expected. Girl from american beauty in it i think, kinda creepy british flick. Good download;)

Ritualistic 02-15-2004 05:09 PM

TOMIE - it was okay a couple good blood shots

Haunting Humans - okay for a serial killer movie

Lucky - Now I like this movie, gotta buy it

Intolerable Cruelty - good clooney movie

Umm I have seen some other ones but I cant think of them right now

okay that is it

BudMan 02-15-2004 05:16 PM

I watched "The Eye" recently and thought it was pretty good. You have to watch it in surround sound though for the full effect. When that ghost come at the girl in the school......man, I got the shivers, and I don't scare easily.

Sam The Egg 02-15-2004 07:28 PM

Lost in Translation: Great movie, I'm hoping it'll get best pic.
The Grey Zone: Above average Holocaust flick

bloodygurl02 02-15-2004 08:01 PM

FvsJ
cabin fever
last samurai

Psychoholic 02-16-2004 12:22 AM

The Birds - Absolutely Brilliant
Critters 2 - Awesome
TCM 2003 - Rubbish

Controversial 02-16-2004 01:13 AM

brotherhood of the wolf(2002)..a bit old, i saw it on TV a couple of nights ago...poor dubbing, but other than that it was ok..

VampRocker 02-16-2004 01:28 AM

The Labrynth. I've seen it multiple times before but it never gets old. Well, actually, it does. I got bored halfway through the last viewing.

Why did I even bother watching it then? An attractive girl whom I have a crush on asked me to watch it with her. How could I resist the 93842th viewing of a movie when it would be with my crush?

Oh, and guys...

She sooo totally leaned on my shoulder during the better half of the film.

::struts his stuff::

sleepaway 02-16-2004 03:53 AM

I watched Love & A .45 again this morning for some reason - it was worse than I had remembered.

Watched American Wedding twice on Sunday. Best of the trilogy.

Haunted Mansion on Sunday. Okay I guess.

Deranged and Motel Hell recently too. Deranged was better, nicely acted but Motel Hell was worse than I recalled, would of made a nice Tales From The Crypt episode but at movie length it seemed padded with random talk and crappy love plot line.

Um...School Of Rock - good but just a Sister Act remake.

The Ghost & Mrs Muir - nice oldie, should be seen at least once.

Cheaper By The Dozen remake - surprisingly good.

Something's Gotta Give - made a nice change, kinda long though but funny and nice seeing a romance between two older people.

Je Suis Phnomne 02-16-2004 09:07 AM

Cabin Fever.... didnt hate it, didnt particularly like it either eh indifferent

House of the Dead....curiosity killed the cat and had to watch, all I can say is I want the 90 minutes of my life back please.

FvJ.... Loved the theory for the movie, didnt much care for the actual movie itself. It had its moments, but overall didnt much like it.

on television...

In the mouth of madness.... freaky

Four Rooms... LOVED IT *the scene with the dead whore under the mattress, bell hop with a needle in his leg, lil boy smoking a cig, lil girl whipping around a champagne bottle and the room is ablaze as the parents walk in...mad funny*

Tremors... I know its old as dirt, but still get a kick out of it

avenged_soul 02-17-2004 11:44 AM

MAY!!!!!!! scared the living hell out of me! omg i almost lost my mind, i mean talk sick and twisted, "mommy said if you cant have friends then make one" yeah weird. but it was soooo good! i highly recommend this independent film! i give it four thumbs up!

Dr.Kelvinstein 02-17-2004 11:49 AM

For the pas two nights I've been doing Monte Hellman on DVD. Great stuff, and truly an overlooked director.

The Shooting
Cockfighter
Two-Lane Blacktop
Ride in the Whirlwind
China 9, Liberty 37 (recorded from cable, not DVD, unfortunately. The official VHS is missing violence and nudity).

otis 02-17-2004 05:12 PM

i watched Jeepers Creepers 2 also. I hated it. I hated the first.

I just, seconds ago, watched Wrong Turn. It was so-so. THe reviews say it was better than Cabin Fever. I strongly disagree. I was disappointed with the hillbillies. They were just fake or something.

Machine King 02-17-2004 05:17 PM

Samurai Fiction - very good movie, it had some funny parts in it too

Big Fish

Shade 02-17-2004 05:23 PM

I went to a party this weekend and since I'm everyone's movie source I brought a few of my horror movies.

Freddy Vs. Jason - love it
Nightmare on Elm Street (first one) - Need I go on? Classic
Evil Dead 1 and 2 - my favs
Ichi the Killer - The love of my life.
Cabin Fever - I've always liked it.
Bride of Chucky - I've always thought it was freakin' Hillarious
Rocky Horror Picture Show - not really horror but I'm a total Trannie so it comes with me everywhere anyway.
Battle Royale - Eh...always loved the book more...
The Ring - love it.
Ringu - better than the English one...in my opinion...though they're both quite different from the book.

DarkwingMantis 02-17-2004 06:30 PM

Just watched Cabin Fever. Movie, acting and all sucked but made up for it in blood and gore

predfan 02-17-2004 11:36 PM

sleepaway 02-18-2004 12:18 AM

Just finished watching 'Lighthouse' - aka - 'Dead Of Night'.

It wasn't so bad, some nice set pieces but nothing new except a whole cast of ugly English people with annoying accents! Oh and the sound quality was atrocious.

Some nice severed heads though.

Amalthea 02-18-2004 04:43 AM

Movies

I saw Sphere, but I don't know if that counts.
Sphere was one of the more underrated Sci-fi movies from 1998, and I thought it was a non stop action movie.

Vodstok 02-18-2004 04:57 AM

It had Queen Latifah. I cant stop staring at that woman......
