Another random curiosity thread! What kinds of meds are the citizens of HDC on?

Posher takes:

This week I will start on a low dose of Abilify . It's an anti-psychotic.

Judging from my screaming at the top of my lungs with neighbors watching "FUCK YOU!! YOU MOTHERFUCKER!! FUCK YOU!!!" at my husband...I think it may be an asset at this point.

EDIT: Just took a scan of the info on Abilify...um, I think NOT.
I am also finding a new fucking shrink...what a dumbass.

Phalanx 12-15-2008 09:17 PM

I try not to take anything at any given time.
Due to this, my immune system has grown pretty strong, which is good in most cases, but sucks on the rare occasion I actually get sick...by the time somethings strong enough for me to pick it up, it can be pretty bad.
At the moment I've been sick for 2 weeks...have been given (although I hate to take them) 3 different courses of antibiotics...the latest being one that doesn't usualyl even get used. Seems to be doing the trick.

I usually prefer to ride out the symptoms and pop a standard cold and flu tablet here'n there, or some nasal decongestant IF neccessary.
I much prefer lemon/honey/ginger/chilli/pepper made into a drink while using eucalyptus spray on everything to disinfect - 9 out of 10 times this works.

Meds relating to mental disorders/chemical imbalance, none.
There were a few years in the early 90's when shit like dexamphetomines and ritalin was shoved down my throat by a parent who just didn't get me...which seemed pretty popular at the time.
I ended up not taking them, my sister ended up selling them to friends.
I never felt like myself, was tired all the time, and failed to see the point...even at the time, I saw myself potentially becoming chemically addicted to them, so I basically refused...I'm pretty much deadset against parents who choose medication over effort in all but a few cases.
If your child is psychotic and a danger to themselves and/or others, sure...maybe look at meds then...if not, it's just damaging.

Weed, I vapourise/eat to relax, enhance appetite and entertainment.

Ever try someone's open arms, full of love?

It could cure all the problems listed above.

I take:
Vitamin D for seasonal depression.
Vitamin C to keep colds away.
Perfect skin a multivitamin for clear skin.
Aller-ease a vitamin to keep my allergy symptoms at bay.
Melatonin to help me sleep.

but do you find that the melatonin gives you really vivid dreams? Sure it makes me drowsy so I fall asleep faster but every time I take it I have the worst, most realistic nightmares.

Herbals really work for you??
I was a big believer in all that, but they never worked for me.
I used to take sublingual Vit.B12 for years and it just didn't work , not once.
I tried melatonin
Colloidal silver
St. John's wort
etc
etc
I love fresh herbals and they work in my bath, but never orallly.

You kids must have a different metabolism...
