01) It will be in the format of Pop Idol, nee American Idol - minus the singing. Umm, there MIGHT be SOME involvement of songs but in a later stage.

02) There will be 4 judges, same as the show. Initial negotiations are on in that department.

03) Contestants shortlisted will get Invitations through PM, and they will be requested to reply back - in the affirmative, or negative - about their participation.

04) There will be qualifying and eliminating rounds, of course. Until we find our HDC Idol, who will have the privilege of holding the title - "HDC Idol Superstar 2008-09".

05) The rounds will be tests based on your skills, talents, intuition, knowledge and imagination - all pertaining to horror (movies, music, books etc.) on a whole. In simpler terms, if you are a pretty decent fan of horror movies (and are even a wee bit smart), you should have no problem advancing on. And yes, the later rounds get increasingly tougher.

I'll do it if I get a bit more information. If this is to do with the Radio, will we be required to actually be on said radio at a specific time. If so, that will pose a problem for me, (unfortuantely, one that wouldn't be able to be altered due to the amount of US posters).

I want to be an idol. :D

Nope. It doesnt have to do anything with radio, nor singing. (or songs, for the moment anyway)

And the first step has been completed. 40 randomly chosen contestants have been sent invitations, and confirmation will be accepted through PMs only.

Update - 7 confirmed participants now.

The show will be off to a glittering start once all invitations have been replied to.

There's alot of people from Ohio and Indiana as well as some other surrounding states on here.

btw, the deadline for all/most selected contestants to confirm their participation ends at Noon EST on Sunday.

If sufficient confirmations arent in yet, the deadline may be extended for a day or two, at the max.

btw, your 4 judges have been finalised, and they are raring to go. Once we have the final tally, I will unveil the names of the Judges. And, HDC Idol will begin.

A piece of advice -

I address all contestants who have confirmed their participation. Use the time between now and when HDC Idol actually starts, to brush up on some of your horror knowledge, ergo watch the movies, read some books, hear some chilling music etc.

It will come in handy.

That was my main concern, and why I'm bowing out...I don't really have the time nor the ability to concentrate that it would take for essay type entries...Sincerely...The baby is extremely distracting, always needs attention, and I'm not ever able to be here as often as I used to be.

Don't you folks know anything about how Idol contests work? You drop out AFTER the contest starts- with as much drama and whining as possible! The judges weren't fair, you had a cold that day, your nerves got to you....

Can I just have an affair with a judge and get kicked out? Who are the judges? I need to start sending them PMs now.

Maybe there will be a press leak or two....

my father in law is improving but is still in hospital...
he keeps getting re- admitted cos for some unknown reason
his temperature keeps getting dangerously high'
