Omnipotence
 

I was just thinking, what would it be like to be a God? A similar idea to the game Black and White. If you were a God, what kind would you be? What would you do for your people, if anything.

I think I'd be a God that had a regular part in the people's lives. Never truly appearing but doing things for them. After all, you're God. You can do anything. I'd make them work for their lives, such as they've have to harvest their grain, progress technologically, decide their leaders etc. But things they cannot control, I would help with. Give them weather that they need. Try to prevent natural disasters etc.

BUT! If they were to step out of line...

If someone were to deny my existence, commit a crime against the people or just generally cause trouble, they would suffer. Die. Eventually, the people would get the message and be good. But then comes the bad point to that. If I force them into being good, are they truly good? Deep in their hearts. I'm not sure...

I would also, if needs be, teach the people a lesson. If they were getting too big for their boots, overstepping the boundaries etc, they may just find a plague or Tornado. Also, I would't prevent death. That is something that must happen. I wouldn't demand they worship me, just acknowledge me. They wouldn't even have to thank me. Just accept that I'm there.

If I were God I'd try and level the playing field a little more, make everyone a little more equal.

I'd just fuck with people.

I'd spend my time playing WOW.

I'd be a loving deity. I'd send my only son down to be one of you, then get tortured and killed. Then I'd unleash all sorts of unpleasentness such as plagues, droughts, famine, disease, war and natural disasters. Oh, and of course have millions of you kill millions more of you in my name. Can you feel the love?

I think I read a really long, really old book where that happened Bwind. :p

I'd do the same thing I do as a parent: give them the tools they need in life to be happy and healthy while preparing them for the worst of either while hoping I did enough for them to pass it on to their kids.
