I liked Nightwatch. Have you seen it?

I've come across several movies that I'd forgotten the titles of. This one was good IMHO.

You've riled the ninja, Nella. Prepare for retribution.

Well, at least she's taking a stab at discussing movies. More than I've seen another do around here.

Nella, here's the links to that movie so far.

...none of which are about the movie that she posted a link to.

I enjoyed the Russian vampire flick called Night Watch - the one in your links - but I've never seen the Ewan McGregor one that she posted about. Doesn't look too bad, but I'd be more apt to check out the original.

I should have done a search. I wasn't sure if anyone had mentioned it before as I thought it was obscure and went straight to DVD.

I can only go by thread titles right now, till they get sorted out by versions.

bloodrayne 10-27-2008 10:50 AM

I was thinking this was about the Russian horror movie Night Watch, which is an awesome movie...Its sequel is Day Watch, which is almost equally awesome

I urge everyone who hasn't seen them to give them a watch

Eye popping special effects and a more fresh take on vampires than anything we've really seen lately. I thought that's what this thread was about too. I've been waiting for Twilight Watch forever it seems but Timur just HAD to go and direct Wanted...

The one you're suggesting I haven't honestly seen Nella, I saw the 1994 Nightwatch but not the remake. I liked the original, maybe I'll check the remake out.

Holy CRAP...I didn't even KNOW they were making a third one!...Thanks for the heads up :)

And yeah, it's definitely a different kind of vampire story, which is a big part of the appeal for me...Absolutely NOT a typical, cookie-cutter vampire movie

monster123 10-27-2008 10:58 AM

I liked the movie it kept my interest throughout the whole thing.

They probably aren't...it's been in the works forever.

And, like Despare said, after Wanted, I dont think think Timur has any intention of finishing the trilogy.

That's too bad, I really hope they give it a shot

And...This made me think of Dog Soldiers 2...Are we EVER going to get that one, or has it been scratched?

It's been a long time ago but I do remember that it was creepy and downright scary toward the end.

Honestly, I've given up all hope on that one. The teaser trailer and plot description were both beyond lame...as much as I love the first one and was initially pumped for a sequel, I could care less now. It's badass enough on it's own

Have you ever seen Val Lewton's Bedlam, Nella. One of the first horror films about mental institutions.

I originally posted that in the last seen movie thread. This thread is about nightwatch with Ewan McGregor.

I'll check into watching Bedlam. I usually don't like movies about mental institutions. They don't scare me. I wouldn't want to spend my life in one but I know what behavioral hospitals are like. Most of the ones I have been to are for depressed people. There are some with Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia sufferers, too. None of these hospitals are anything like mental hospitals/asylums/sanitariums that you see on TV or in movies. There's nothing scary about mental illnesses, unless you have one. Now that is what I call horror.

I watched the one with Ewan McGregor in the theater. Wasn't bad, I've heard the original is much better but I've never seen it.

I think I'll try to see the original. Sounds promising. :)

I have the '94 Danish version in my queue at NF but it says there is a very long wait.
