Holy COW! There is NO way that I can catch up

So, could you guys please just let me know what's been happening in your worlds?

Same as always here. Ash is into everything.

I'm seriously going to try to at least check in with you guys once a day.

Ash is napping at the moment, but he'll be awake soon.

I kept thinking that I needed to come here because I miss you guys so much, but I can only get a few minutes at a time and I would need more than that if I was here. So, now I figure even a few minutes a day is better than nothing. I'm really going to try.

Been watching TONS of horror movies. Takes 3 hours to watch a 90 minute movie...lol...Have to keep pausing and rewinding because Ash gets bored with it sometimes, or wakes up right in the middle of it, always something.

Despare 03-29-2008 08:13 PM

Holy crap, welcome back! The stars must really be aligned now...

We'll take a few minutes, it's better than nothing!

neverending 03-29-2008 08:28 PM

We're just glad to have you back!

Thanks, Sweetness :)

So, have I missed anything going on with you? I take it married life is still treating you well. Any plans for a 'little Despare' anytime soon? :D

Nah, still too much to do but I keep getting the, "if you keep saying that you'll never have kids" speech. I'd probably consider it more if I didn't see how busy it made you. :p

Ah well, more of me would be just too much evil in this world but maybe the wife would balance it out enough...

lol, too, TOO cute. And oh so true. They really are a handful, but you're still young, it will be easier.

PSST: Don't wait until you're in your 30's unless you have LOTS of energy at that age. I THOUGHT I had too much energy. I'm losing it faster these days. A 2 year-old will seriously burn it out of you. WHEW

*giggles* Now I remember why I spent so much time here. You guys always make me laugh. :)

Hmm, maybe you can help me with a little something. We just hooked up the
5th computer (now we all have one, so the kids can do their schoolwork, Ash can play on his instead of bashing ours, and we can all have access when we need it). They are all hooked into one hub. We have DSL that only used to cut out in thunderstorms or heavy snow. But, ever since we hooked in the 5th one, we keep getting cut off about every hour or so. Is it some kind of conflict do you think? And, any idea how to make it stop?

Does the 5th one show in the network properly? Check network settings and see if the router recognises it.

If the network settings are fine and the router has access to all 5 comps, you may need to change the LAN card of the 5th one.

Umm, already too technical for me, I'm gonna let Dustin field this.

I do know that he had to change the IP for the 5th one. Not sure why. But, we're still getting cut off. It didn't do it with 4, only since the 5th.

Is that number accurate? I bet you really counted didn't you?

Despare 03-29-2008 08:49 PM

The DSL should work well with 5 computers, at work I have 8 computers networked all using DSL (one wirelessly). Like _V_ said, it's most likely a problem with the network setup, also be sure to check that there are no conflicting IPs, you should probably have them all set to DHCP.

Dude Guadalupe 03-29-2008 08:51 PM

I already took care of the conflicting Ip, all are set to DHCP, all are recognized, and the fifth is already running on another LAN card. Those were the first things I checked.

Rayne 03-29-2008 08:55 PM

UGH, as for what Dustin and the rest of you have said, I have no idea what any of it means.

So...Now what? I would really like to fix this, and he can't think of anything else to try.

Despare 03-29-2008 08:57 PM

If you unplug another computer and put the fifth into that one's spot on the router does it work?

neverending 03-29-2008 08:58 PM

Along the same lines- check your cables- even the ports - they can be screwed up.

Try replacing the 5th one with another comp. If the problem persists, you may need to unplug the 5th from the hub and go through the Settings all over again.

Its not an IP problem. Its the DHCP.

Dude Guadalupe 03-29-2008 09:01 PM

Same effect, if all five are plugged in we get booted. We used to get booted before but very rarely.

Only four are actually run through the hub. Rayne's is missing the driver for her LAN card so she is hooked directly to the modem through usb.

@Neverending: All cables are new, the ports are good as well.

_____V_____ 03-29-2008 09:04 PM

Call a tech and ask for a replacement hub. Maybe this one cant handle 5.

Dude Guadalupe 03-29-2008 09:05 PM

Actually I was thinking about borrowing an old on from work to see if there was any difference.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but as soon as we put in the 5th one, the first and 5th wouldn't stay online at the same time. Both of those are Acers, the others are not.

After he changed the IP of the 5th one, all 5 comps were online, but then we ran into the problem of all of them losing connection at the same time, about every hour or so. They stay off for about 5 minutes, then all come back on again.

If someone is on for a while without cutting off, as soon as someone else starts surfing on another comp, they all cut out. If used one at a time, they stay on.

Do it. I am pretty sure that might solve the problem.

and who were you again??

just kidding - welcome back

GorePhobia 03-30-2008 07:51 AM

OMG Thank God you are back.

I was so scared that it was my fault you left. I am just happy things are going good for you and all and that you are back.

As for me about 6 months ago I started to date my beautiful girlfriend and we found out she could have possibly have brain cancer last month so I got the funds together (through the help of alot of amazing people) and I went to visit her and then we found out it wasn't brain cancer so that was a relief. We are going to be getting a house together soon in July or August. My band is on hiatus right now due to our drummer. My radio show is still going full steam. We might be going onto a real radio station around my way on 1360 AM and you can check it online also. I finally got a job at MRS Associates, INC. Which is a debt collection agency, making eleven dollars an hour plus commission off of the debt I collect if I make my budget.

So yeah that is about what is going on with me.

I am so happy you are back!

You need to call and chat with me sometime I miss it!

Now, you all should just move here so we can hang out when I can't use the comp :D

It's like EVERYTHING was based on the auto industry and here and now (thanks also go to our governor and the mayor of Detroit) there's a domino effect that's decimating the state. I'm safe, but that doesn't mean much, our neighbors across the street AND next door have both been foreclosed.
