Australia isn't Great producer of muscians or actors. Even the two bands i mentioned there have lead singers or members born out side of Australia
Over half the actors who people say are Australian were born overseas.
Mel Gibson, hugh jackman, guy pearce, russel crow, sam neil, the list goes on.
And the ones who you wished were born overseas arent.

wolfmother are ok. But they are just a rip off of led zepplin n black sabbath. But then again. maybe they are just playing the same kind of music. SO ill say wolfmother.

Trust me, you would have wanted me to ignore you. Wolfmother is the failed abortion of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, Zeppelin weren't even that good the first time around. If I hear "Woman" one more time I'm going to start beheading babies.

Yeah, Zeppelin seems to be one of those bands that everyone 'has' to like, and it's almost considered blasphemy to say anything bad about them, but I agree. Sabbath were much, much better IMO.

Yes, Silverchair is a band that wishes they were cool enough to be Nirvana but it's the best grunge Australia's ever produced. They had a couple ok songs and they were, like I said, OK. You still can't deny the awesomeness that is Men at Work. Oh, and I like a fews songs from The Vines too... AND I really like Jet. I'll go with Jet. That's my answer.


And as far as Zep goes, they were good but overrated, they also stole a LOT of old blues tunes and never gave the original authors credit. Like The Lemon Song...

No, I really couldn't think of a single good australian band that came out in the last 30 years.

I made it because

a) Wolfmother and Jet are really bad
b) to piss cheeba off

c) to offend the masses

Ah well, I like Jet, Wolfmother is alright, and Men at Work will for ever have me asking people if they do indeed come from a land down under. You're right though, those Aussies haven't been making good music for a while.

I seriously think that people from overseas seem to have only ever head about 5 Australian bands...and yknow what? Fuck Silverchair...I liked ONE song they ever did (Israel Son) and the rest was just wannabe crap.

...I think all of those are alright...and pretty certain they're all relatively recent by comparison to the other mentions...
I'm sure every dingle one of them will bear similarity to SOME other band/artist, but then - this is not exactly a condition exclusive to Australian music, every single band/group sounds like something else.
