Sometimes, secretly, I actually find you very entertaining

Can you go more than a day without making reference to your character? You can never just say "Yeah, I enjoyed The Descent" you always have to incorporate some mention of an old lady "As a sexy senior bloodsucker I quite enjoyed The Descent". I enjoy Johnny Depp's performances but I would get pissed off if he always dressed and talked like a pirate.

Why doesn't someone (anyone) just post a Getting to Know You Survey with a number of questions that everyone can answer?
When those ?'s have been answered someone else asks some questions.

Well, my contention is this on the matter.

Would Zacherlie, Vampira, Morgus The Magnificant and other horror hosts consider being out of character when dealing with or writing about horror?

The problem is that everyone is sick of your character, you're horror.com's version of Pauly Shore. Atleast Pauly Shore was amusing in small doses, your posts might as well be pop up ads. It's time to drop the characters, everyone is sick of them and I'm the only one who will come out and say it.

Wow, thats peticularly mean, so what if the guy likes to stay in character? Thats really none of your business, if you don't like it then don't talk to them. Its that simple. And its not like anybody complains about Marleys Ghost, who only posts poems and such in different threads, instead of typing up normally like everybody else. But do you hear anybody complain about it? No.

Okay...the two people you dont mess with when I am around this place are Dolly and Marley's Ghost.:mad:

They have done a LOT more to this place than anybody can imagine, and HDC...even in ruins today...owes a shitload to both of em.

You got the "used to be" part dead right...now you are nowhere NEAR that. Welcome back, Dolly. Stick around for awhile.

The in-character thing does come on a little strong, but Zaleska's input is invaluable. The classic horror section is a bloody ghost town most of the time. But, Zaleska has valuable comments and starts discussions. This is a HORROR FORUM. If you're Smokey the Bear or the Riddler and you've got something worth saying, good intentions and no desire to make ad hominem attacks, you should be welcome and go without hassling. Zaleska, Spamman and Marley's Ghost are heroes fighting a war against the banality that engulfs our day to day lives.

Maybe if I just used the picture for the signature and not another one each time , then that would not make it so strong!

I like using this "crazy" character as a horror host.

But if it is too objectionablr, then I will tone it down.

Actaully, I would like to get out of the "woman" image and do something else as a character,, but I would need to close down the Maria Zalesky account and start a new one! Or at least rename the account!

How do I go about it?

To be honest I am tired of the Countess Marya character myself! And that image is definitely not me in real life!

I agree, the fact that Maraya stays in character is sweet but he's obviously such an interesting guy (with interesting hobbies) and I too would love to get to know him a little better.

Be whoever you want to be online, who cares what other people think? If people don't like it let them ignore you, but they have the right not to find you entertaining. So be a crazy old vampire lady, be a self-important young lady with anger issues, be a young man who's little more than an asshole with nothing nice to say... just enjoy it.

However, I still want to keep the character since I have the account set up that way.

I will have the picture as my signature and let it go at that.

But insert other pictures along the way.

But you are right, I am a male, and probably need to show other sides of me. Believe me, i am nothing in real life likeThe Countess. It was a Halloween costume! I wore it once and probably won't ever wear it again! I did not enjoy wearing a dress. Believe me!

I will make the necessary changes now. However, my character will still remain as Countess Marya but not shown so much!
