The people killing is real, the animal killing is fake. Simple as that.

I thought it was the other way around. That the human deaths were faked and the animal ones were real. The exception being the scenes from "Last Road to hell" which showed real executions.

you're right. it is the other way around: in cannibal holocaust, the people deaths are fake, the animal deaths are real.

I always found it odd that an intelligent individual, [ and he was...his reviews on his web site were some of the most thought out and informative i've ever seen] could go off on a tangent like he sometimes did.

doctor satan 01-05-2008 07:22 AM

Yeah i agree totally, It was quite amusing at first but half way through the thread he just totally lost the plot & was insulting anyone no matter what their view on the film was. I did a forum search & could'nt find the original thread has it been deleted?

It must be in HDC limbo. Can't even find 42nd Street.

That was a fun thread

How about a poll to re-instate some of the funniest posts in the past. Hey you all know what gets my vote!

Cannibal Holocaust was nowhere near as good as Lenzi's Cannibal Ferox.

Whatever, I know most of you probably disagree.

I personally think Ferox is much more entertaining... A better quality film than Cannibal Holocaust?... Absolutely not... I think maybe I just couldn't get into the documentary type thing Holocaust had going.

Ferox also has Giovanni Raddice in it - He always puts on a very good performance.

I take back my comment about Ferox being "way better"... Like I said I just found it to be more entertaining. I can see myself watching Ferox more than a couple times and enjoying it. Something I don't think I can say about Holocaust.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion - C'mon.

Not really a big fan of CF but have to admit the dvd they released a few years back is a real gem. Have you ever listened to the commentary on CF by Lenzi & Raddice, it's hilarious one of my favourites. Lenzis saying how proud he is of his film & trying to justify the animal cruelty footage, while Raddice is saying how ashamed he is.

Several hours drinking in front of a computer can do that to you dude.

No I haven't but that would be really cool to hear... Hopefully I'll get my hands on that version of the DVD one day.

Yeah I've heard about that. Raddice said he would've never taken part in the film had he known how gruesome it was going to turn out to be. He also said that he deeply regrets taking part in the rape scene.

From what I understand Lenzi seems to be a pretty twisted guy... Out of the films I've seen of his, they all seem pretty damn good... I really liked his "Seven Bloodstained Orchids".

Anything you ever wanted to know about Cannibal Holocaust!

bwind22 01-10-2008 03:26 AM

The penis dismemberment in Cannibal Holocaust is the single best special effect in cinema history.

newb 01-10-2008 07:48 AM

HEE HEE HEE....What a fun read.

42nd's site is back up. I know he gave up on it shortly after this took place.
He's got some great reviews. And this little tidbit might give insight as to why the thread lead to his meltdown. ---------->http://www.beardyfreak.com/nasties4.php?raid

doctor satan 01-11-2008 03:27 AM

Yeah i've seen that before. Not a good time the early 80's - mid 90's if you were into your Horror films. Hardly any films got released without being trimmed down by the Nannies at the BBFC. Any films you could watch were butchered & others like TCM, Evil Dead, CH, LHOTL were banned outright.

The search engine on the site only goes back as far as to the site upgrades. The upgrades messed the site up a bit. But hey, at least it was found.
