If the movie is just as violent as the comic book there is hope. ;) I just hope it's not another "league of extraordinary gentlemen" disappointment. Coz that comic was freakin violent as well.. |

That wasn't the biggest problem with League of Extraordinary Gentlemen the movie. But I totally agree on 30 Days of Night. It needs the violence to be organic and fun.
I spoke with Steve Niles about the movie and the grin on his face was genuine. He loves the way it came out.
I can't wait to see it! |
I did read the book based on the graphic novels, good stuff. I'd like to see the graphic novels.
Just saw the trailer for this and it looks great.I haven't read any of the graphic novels but I'm sure gonna try and track them down.

If you get your hopes up too high, you will be disappointed. Better scale them way back now, then the film might be a pleasant surprise.
It's really just a slick, action-oriented comic book movie that seldom tries to be scary because it's too busy going "Wow, ain't it cool!" Sometimes it flirst with being silly - the vampires are less blood drinkers than blood-spillers, slashing people with their claws and letting the blood run everywhere. Rather wasteful in a town with a small population of possible blood donors. But hey, the director wasn't going to let good sense get in the way of those flashy shots of slashing claws. |
Well I hope it is atleast good and fun for the Halloween time.
Can't wait either.
Saw it opening night. It's a must see for any gore hound, super-heavy on the blood. Fun movie!
Looks like I'm going to go see this next weekend rather than across the universe after Gore's suggestion.
yess 2 of the 3 of us seen this and it was awesome, the gore/violence .. i will go out on a line an say its the best violent/HORROR vampire movie ive seen in a while plus the concept is original enough to set it apart from others ,of all the other vampire movies out this is the only one i seen use the fact there are 30 days of night in alaska every year ... i'll most deff be buying this on DVD
I'll go see it October 26th as a back to back adventure with Saw IV.
Best Vampire movie in recent memory.
I'm going this weekend to see the film, I as well love the concept and take on it being in Alaska. I can't wait to see all this blood covered snow :-) Is the novel worth buying?!
Tell me what ya think Maniac.
Novel is definately worth buying. You can find the comics real cheap online too. I'm goetting the first one for my brother for Christmas.
awesome sweet crazy cool
can't wait!! |
GorePhobia, I just did EXACTLY what you planned to do. Saw IV first, 30 Days second. The latter being the one I enjoyed more.
Awesome. I have to wait until I have the money to see either. Hopefully it will be soon and it will be a fun good time.
Going to the late showing of 30 Days of Night tonight. I'm a little afraid of the huge crowds that will be at the theatre tonight to see Saw 4 but hopefully I can get there early and avoid the rush.
I'll let you know what I think. |
I thought it was a cool movie. Dug the soundtrack plus it had some wicked gore!
