First of all I want to thank Gore, for letting us know about this radio talk show thing...I would not have known that the capability existed if it hadn't been for him.

Second, I would like to get some opinions from you guys on this idea.


What if we created a 'show' for ONLY HDC members?...One where we all know everyone who's calling in, and we can hang out together?...It would be just like our forum here, but instead of posting, we'd be speaking

Here are some of the ideas that I had for it:

1) It would HAVE to be on a night when Gore is NOT having HIS show, so that there would be no conflicts there...Then you guys would have a chance to do both

2) We could work out a time that would make it possible to include as many forum members as we can (we'll have to compare time zones on this one)

3) We would have to decide who would 'host' it, as there has to be one person to turn the thing on and let the calls through...Unless there's a way that we could take turns hosting it, I don't know because I haven't actually seen how it works

4) There wouldn't really be a 'topic'...We could just discuss any current topics that are on the forum, or just call in and chit chat

If you guys decide you want to try this, I would very much like to hear from all of you on the show, especially the people who we haven't gotten a chance to talk to on the phone yet:

Haunted (I can give her a call and see if she'd go for it)
Jenna (she could SPEAK this time...haha)

And EVERYONE else that we haven't heard from

I would also love it if we could figure out a way to get the people from outside of America in on this...Maybe even Zwoti could make a brief 'appearance'

I have to wait til the end of the month. I did phone in on my mobile at one point and it lost about £2.00 of credit within 30 mins. But then, mobiles do cost more. I think we have something that makes international calls cheaper.

I would possibly participate occassionally- as long as it was after 7pm pacific- that's when my evening minutes kick in. My nights are pretty busy though- and I have several other shows I catch on various nights, by broadcasters I know.

Hmm...We would have to see what time 7pm Pacific is for the rest of us...Is it Midnight or 1am here?...Something else?...I'm really not sure...Doesn't California actually have different time zones within the state?...Like between the northern and southern parts?

Well- it depends on where the rest of you are. I believe you said something about NC- which is EST- which is 10 pm to PST 7pm. And, no, California doesn't have different time zones, and I'm not in California anyway. :p

Some of our people are in North Carolina...I'm in Kentucky...NC AND KY are in EST zone

I don't have a clue where I got the idea that California had different time zones...Hmm

OH...And that's great, because I was thinking about seeing how 10pm EST lined up with the rest of the world, so we could try to get Newb in on this :)

I'd like to be able to host a show, surely we can work it out where we take turns, it would just be getting all the admin done to begin with. And then so long as everyone can be trusted we could pm the enter codes to whoever was host on said date and time..

No offense I know your saying thank you but I don't understand why it can't just be my show still. The reason I said I will be doing the show three nights a week is so that I can have a night for the movie stuff for anyone and everyone to call in and then nights for whatever. I just think it's unfair if you all make one thats just my opinion.

I think it's a good idea, but why not do it right before his show like a lead-in or something? It'd probably help him attract more viewers too.

Yeah, I was thinking that it could go something like that...But, I'm not sure if you have to host from the same phone number every time...Know what I mean?Because your show is open to EVERYONE, which is awesome for YOU, the more callers the better, right?...That's what 'radio show' hosts hope for, and that's understandable...Hell, you could become FAMOUS for your show :)

But...This idea isn't about ratings, or getting our name or show 'out there'...It's just about hanging out with the forum members, and talking to people we know, trying to make sure that everyone gets a chance to participate, and no one would even know about it except HDC's members...That's quite a bit different than your show :)

Also, if it's on a different night, I don't see how it could take any of our members away from YOUR show

And anyway...I was just throwing out the idea to see what everyone thought about it...Yourself includedHmm...That could kinda go either way:

Good: Some people who couldn't be on at one time, could possibly make it for the other time

Bad: Not many people would wanna do BOTH, or stay on the phone for a couple of hours, so they would most likely only choose one or the other

If they were on different nights and times altogether, that would give people more of an opportunity to do both...Or at least it seems that way to me :)

Well we could just set up a mock one to begin with, I might see what I can do tomorrow afternoon when I have some free time...

Then I can let you know what I suss out...

But is there an admin fee?

All this will soon be answered if Gore won't take part we can work it out anyway, there is no monopoly on it...

I don't think there's a fee...But, I haven't checked it out because I was waiting to see if anyone would even be interested

Seriously though...Don't knock yourself out on it just yet...We really haven't gotten very many responses from most of the forum members...So, maybe only less than half of us are into the idea...Would it really be worth it if we couldn't get most of the forum involved?

I think if we started it then it would catch on, we just have to make it good, maybe hook up some good interievew over time and play some awesome music, it has to start somewhere though, and if it's just a few of us to begin with then we will build from that.

I think a lot of people just can't be bothered doing the leg work...

Ya know...I didn't think of interviews...We could maybe do 5 minutes or so with each member, and have like a questionaire or something, to get to know each other better...That could be fun :)

OH, and I would encourage each person who calls in to start with their screen name and real first name (if they wouldn't mind, of course) so that we would know who we were talking to

I'm just afraid that if there weren't many people involved, you would be wasting your money to call...If you could call for FREE, I wouldn't even care :p

Well, I think its a good idea and would participate. And I might even be able to convince Rollin' to join in as well on a regular basis. :)
I also know that I would catch Gorephobia's show as well as often as I could. I mean, I never know what might come up, but I have no intention of not listening to his show just because this is going on as well.

Yeah but we could posibbly set up an acount for the uk and one for the US, I'm not sure if you can. but if we could then we could take it in turns of a uk based shows and an American one.... get my drift...

though Gore don't seem to happy about this for some reason.

Hmm...Maybe YOU could do it for the UK, and the rest of us could just listen in (because I no longer have my international calling plan)...And Gore's show could just cover the US if he set up a night that was ONLY for HDC members or something

But, making TWO more shows, might be a little much...OR, you could do the UK show one night, and the US show could be another night....WAIT A MINUTE

What if the UK show was at the same time as the US show, and we could listen to them and they could listen to us, and we could respond to each other, and everyone would be talking to everyone that way?...Hmm, actually...That could get really confusing with the delay...I dunno

As for Gore, he seems to view another 'show' as some sort of competition, but since it would be a different kinda thing, and on different nights...I just don't see that

The reason I don't seem happy is because the only reason I'm doing it more days is because of you guys. No one else is gonna call the other days just you guys so why can't it still be my show? That's what I don't understand.

It's a US based company. The phone numbers are US numbers- there's no getting around that.

It went from everyone loving my show and wanting to call to just because one night I couldn't answer Dustin's call and two people didn't talk enough now you want to do another show. I am sorry that they didn't talk you can talk if you just speak up.
