http://imdb.com/title/tt0081505/

I wouldn't trust the rating system in any way, shape, or form, but read some of the reviews.

bleeding_angelgirl 09-22-2007 05:12 PM

the shinning is very good, i loved the original. i love jack

missmacabre 09-22-2007 05:14 PM

Ok I know this will make no sense buuuuut

Jack Nicholson make me like movies I don't like. Something's Gotta give is a prefect example. I hated the writing and the romantic comedy of it but Jack Nicholson swayed my vote and I kinda liked it.

AmericanManiac 09-22-2007 05:15 PM

If you watch the original, imo you will like it! Just don't watch the stupid remake, as most of us hate remakes :D Yes its a good film, NOW watch it!

Edit: You honestly can't really listen to anyone because we all have different taste and thoughts, so if you want to know if it's good you will have to watch it!

Heeerrrrrreeeeeee'sssssss Johnny!

missmacabre 09-22-2007 05:17 PM

I happened to like the remake. Acting was sorta crappy but it was scarier IMO because it was closer to the book. If you ever want to know what the book was like but don't want to read it (which I don't suggest but whatever) then watch the remake.

bleeding_angelgirl 09-22-2007 05:18 PM

i dident like the remake, it was to ugh lol

What that movie with Matt Dameon and umm. . . . . . . Leo ?! It's new, I can't think of the name but that was a damn good movie as well, not horror though.

It was more of a rightmake than a remake. Not saying Kubrick's wasn't good but I just really liked the book okay. Feel free to ignore me now haha

Nor could I. Same with Bag of Bones. Once I was three quarters done I just wanted to read the last chapter and get it over with.

bleeding_angelgirl 09-22-2007 05:43 PM

yeah i wanted to do that but i always feel guilt like gods going to hit me with a lightning bolt. lol the best book i have read latly is the twighlight series. i stayed up all night so i could finish each one in 1 or two sittings.

I don't realy rate King much as a writer. I loved Carrie, and I think he has great story ideas.. But most of his books are to much filler..

Lol Disease = Pwnt

Anyways, I love Stephen King, I've read many of his books, and I am proud to say that I read the entire Dark Tower series which is 7 novels. THAT is a long read, but I love the characters. Thats the thing about SK, his stories can be somewhat... long and drawn out, but when it comes to character development he is top notch. I think thats the reason that he is such a popular author.

Maybe he could use some pictures instead of crapping on with mundane details.. anything to make his books worth more of a read.

I prefer it when his story's get made into movies, because that's all he has realy got these days, I think he has exhausted his talents when it comes to novels.

I totally agree with that. His older stuff was really great IMO. As for his newer stuff I only really liked the first in The Dark Tower series. The Shining and It were some of my favourites though.

I'm glad some one has got the guts to agree with me.

and, I will add, that I didn't technically read The Gunslinger. I listened to it on audio tape because it droned on a lot at times and I knew I'd never finish if I was to read it.

Yes! I think that the original with Jack Nicholson was great.

bleeding_angelgirl 09-23-2007 11:58 AM

for some reson i never liked stephen kings books that i tried to read. some of them go in to explaining to much detail and i get bord. I do like his movies, well most of them some are boring.
