YEAH RIGHT

Unaboner3000 03-17-2007 06:53 PM

I only viewed the top 10, and immediately four of them stuck out as not belonging in a top 10.

Quote:

10. The Evil Dead (1981, Directed by Sam Raimi)

9. Psycho (1960, Directed by Alfred Hitchcock)

8. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984, Directed by Wes Craven) No Way

7. The Shining (1980, Directed by Stanley Kubrick) No Way

6. Night of the living Dead (1968, Directed by Dean Lachiusa & George A. Romero)

5. Halloween (1978, Directed by John Carpenter)

4. Dawn of the Dead (1978, Written and Directed by George A. Romero)

3. The Descent (2005, Directed by Neil Marshall) No Way

2. Alien (1979, Directed by Ridley Scott)

And...The Top Horror Movie of All Time is...

1. The Exorcist (1973, Directed by William Friedkin) No Friggin' Way

Does anyone know who put that list together?

Despare 03-17-2007 07:00 PM

The top 10 movies are all deserving of a spot I think. The Exorcist had a HUGE impact on the horror community and The Shining along with NMoES are horror icons. I guess the Descent is the only one I can't comment on because I have yet to see it. :(

The rest of the list by the way, is a disjointed mess...
Some picks are great and others are just plain wrong. They should have just copied HDCs.
Oh and look! May's in the top 20! Slasherman will love that! ;)

Alien, Psycho, Halloween, should have been number one. one of the three I mean.

I wouldn't have minded that top 3 at all. But Exorcist? Descent? Good films, but I wouldn't label them masterpieces or anything.

Despare 03-17-2007 07:07 PM

I don't see how you can't label the Exorcist as a masterpiece... anybody who saw it in the theater will tell you; they had never seen anything like it before. Ah well, opinons and all.

Posher778 03-17-2007 07:09 PM

I didn't care for exorcist either... but ya know, religious and all. Alien= Best ever IMO. OMG not scream! Everyone can stop complaining about it now.

Yea, just one man's opinion. I never liked it. Always thought it was rather boring and not all that scary. But true enough, in its own time I'm sure people pissed themsleves watching it.

Despare 03-17-2007 07:11 PM

I wasn't as impressed with Alien as everybody else was, don't get me wrong I thought it was great but top horror? Not in my opinion.

Sigourney> Neve

Unaboner3000 03-17-2007 07:18 PM

Proof that list sucks@!

Quote:

14. Carrie (1976, Directed by Brian De Palma) Too High

17. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974, Directed by Tobe Hooper) Top 10 Material IMO

24. Aliens (1986, Directed by James Cameron) Insanely Low

35. Hostel (2005, Directed by Eli Roth) This so high, yet Scream in the 60s?

40. Day of the dead (1985, Written and directed by George A. Romero) Too Low

43. The Omen (1976, Directed by Richard Donner) Insanely Low

47. Phantasm (1979, Directed by Don Coscarelli) This Makes Top 100?

Despare 03-17-2007 07:21 PM

Your opinion's hardly proof. All your taste is in your mouth. :p

But you're right, it does suck. Phantasm does belong on there... good thing it's #65 on the HDC list.

Unaboner3000 03-17-2007 07:22 PM

True....many people tell me the Phantasm movies are the bomb.

Like Suspiria I can actually see where a lot of people wouldn't like Phantasm.
