Hatchet

This shit sounds pretty fucking leet. Any movie that has Englund, Hodder and Tony Todd in it (even if its just cameos but I'm pretty sure Hodder is the bad guy) is off to the races already... trailers look ok as far as teasers go:

http://www.hatchetmovie.com/media/trailer-tribeca.wmv

http://www.hatchetmovie.com/media/orig-trailer.wmv

plus special effects is done by Carl Buechler who has worked on tons of shit (Reanimator, some of the F13s abd Halloweens as well as a ton of other stuff)

Roderick Usher 12-24-2006 08:20 AM

It rules. Adam Green is my friend and his slasher opus is a good fucking time!!!!!!

He told me that although it's getting trimmed for a theatrical release (to get an "R") it will get a very limited unrated release in select cities. I'll keep you posted. You'll want to see the unrated...the head rip MY GOD, THE HEAD RIP!!!!

Spec7ral 12-24-2006 06:40 PM

sweet man, that rocks, i cant wait to see it. lemme know if they have any plans of makin it unrated in vancouver, i would be down to break my no theater streak for a sweet original slasher

Nikkif8 12-28-2006 11:29 AM

I haven't seen any previews for this, when is it coming out?

Yeah right something uncensored in Canada. hahahahaha. Canada the most regulated country in the world. The thought police of canada wont permit anything uncensored. You can smoke drugs in canada. but you can't express a individual thought that the p.c army doesn't approve of. Canada where you can go to jail for dissagreeing with popular opinion.

wufongtan. 12-28-2006 08:54 PM

this movie sounds ok.

Cool looking forward to seeing this film.

Roderick Usher 01-22-2007 09:38 AM

I'm gonna keep bumping this thread until the film comes out.

It's really fun and really simple and deserves to be seen in the theater.

a mccuaig 01-22-2007 02:36 PM

I'll watch it! More and more movies are being made in Canada because it's mass cheaper to film up there! Plus, you can please your actors with wonderful and tasty hemp cheese!!

Shadow 01-23-2007 01:35 AM

hahahhahahahaha nice. Im heading out to Canada lol.

Shadow 01-25-2007 06:49 AM

So im not going to canada then. Or do they still have the hemp cheese? lol.

Roderick Usher 01-31-2007 05:57 PM

Just got pushed back to August/September release. But the good news it that it's being pushed because it's been testing so well that Anchor Bay is going to go back and color correct the film (there was an incident at the DI house that did the color and Adam has been pissed about it) so it should look freakin' great.

Elvis_Christ 02-01-2007 12:37 AM

What was wrong with the colour?

Color correction is done on all films to ensure an even tone from one reel of film to another. When editing, sometimes variables in lighing and filmstock can cause glaring differences from one shot to another, so a digital corection process evens everything out.

Apparently nothing looked the way Adam intended, but I still thought it looked cool. I can't wait to see it look even better.

Shadow 02-01-2007 07:13 AM

Cool.
Well you learn something new everyday.
Thank you :)

Burning in Hell 02-01-2007 11:20 AM

ThrillerWriter666 02-03-2007 07:19 AM

I stumbled across the website for Hatchet last summer (looking for inspiration for my own website) and thought it and the movie looked great. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Louisiana swamps are spooky.

He's crazy busy. I can hardly get a minute of phone time with him these days:o

But I can't wait to see the theatrical release. I know one AMAZING bit of gore had to be trimmed to get an "R", but the picture should be great after a full color correction.

AmericanManiac 04-24-2007 08:52 AM

ever since I first seen about this I knew it was going to be one that I really enjoyed. The trailer is just teasing the hell out of me, I hope the part that they had to cut will be on an unrated, version of the dvd. I honestly can't wait to see this flick!

Adam assured me the "head-rip" will absolutely be on the DVD. It's a moment that made me leap out of my seat, cheering when I saw it the first time - and that was in my own living room.

I have an agency screener DVD. I needed to see the film when we were trying to hire Adam to direct one of our scripts - the one that JC is now doing.:D

And no, sorry I can't burn you a copy. I swore to Adam that I wouldn't.

novakru 04-24-2007 12:27 PM
