Burning in Hell 10-01-2006 03:18 PM

Very good series IMO, and No. 3 looks pretty sick from what little I've seen...

Agreed.

Nikkif8 10-01-2006 03:54 PM

I'm hoping Saw III is better than II, the first one kicked ass and the sencond one was so-so.

Jaguar 10-02-2006 07:17 AM

I'm always quite disappointed by sequels - they just shouldn't do it. Saw 2 wasn't as good, neither was Jeepers Creepers 2, the Ring 2, etc etc. They just shouldn't do it - your expectations are always too high after the first film.

As long as it's every bit as gruesome and nail bittingly tense.

Vodstok 10-02-2006 08:13 AM

I think the saw movies are kind of like the original few seasons of the x-files. Not terribly spectacular, but very cool, and i could keep watching as long as they dont get too crazy. they have great twist endings too.

the_real_linda 10-02-2006 08:19 AM

they got a lot to keep up with......i thought that final destination had the same problem but they overcame that by bringing back the original writers and directer for the 3rd film......both had a lot to live up to

True, I thought Final Destination 3 was pretty good considering it was the 3rd in the series.

JP500 10-03-2006 04:43 PM

The other 2 were good so hopefully they won't mess up the third one.

bwind22 10-04-2006 01:40 AM

It's hard to say on Saw 3....

I thought the twist at the end of the original punched a lot of holes in the plot and made the whole movie sorta lame. Conversely, I thought the twist at the end of the 2nd one was great and made perfect logical sense. I enjoyed the second movie more than the first by a wide margin... Not sure how I feel about part 3, but I'll certainly check it out.

Anyone know a release date yet?

VampiricClown 10-04-2006 12:04 PM

I can see by reading this thread that SAW has kind of a split fan base....

As far as a date, I'll go snag it. I think it's either the 21st or 27th of October though.

****EDIT****

It is released on Oct. 27th

Yeah it does. Almost looks more in comparison to the first one over the second in my opinion. But it's also a bit different than both.

Sick_As_Fuck 10-04-2006 05:44 PM

Yeah, it doesn't look like people trapped in one place together this time.

It looks more like the parts of the first one that you didn't get to see. Ala, the reverse bear trap.

evildemontoo 10-05-2006 05:56 PM

Just watched SAW again last night, I think it was on ShowTime. The first one was definitly better than the second. The first one your didn't know what the hell was going on, the second you were just sitting there waiting to see what game each person would get. I don't know how they will get the mystery back into III, but I'm sure I'll see it anyway!

the_real_linda 10-11-2006 11:02 AM

its the same with final destination. the first film its like....wow ive never seen anything like this before.....then the rest have to live up to it, they could change it to be original but people are gonna pay to see the same formular stuff as before....i wanna see more gross stuff.....that what ill be paying a ridiculous cinema ticket price for. i wonder if i can use my student discount and orange wednesdays together??

I am deffinately excited to see this. I didnt get to watch the complete first movie(busy talking online) but the second movie deffinately caught my attention. I have really been waiting for the third to come out.
These movies have for sure taken alot of time and knowledge to put together such mind twisting scenes.
It'd be kool if they came out with bunch of Saw's, like Elmstreet.:)

tic 10-26-2006 11:50 AM

Seen some of the trailer (on tv ) the last few days, but most likely won't go to see it, not that it won't be any good, just that I haven't seen the the first two.

Maybe when I get to see Saw then Saw 2, to get some idea of the on going story, rather than jumping in at the end; sort of like reading the last pages of a whodunnit first and then reading the beginning, if you know what I mean.

I believe that would be a smart idea considering the fact that saw can be quite confusing. You'll probably enjoy the first two. I know I did.

Burning in Hell 10-26-2006 12:10 PM

First review I saw for this yesterday on Joblo's Emporium (before Lion's Gate asked that it be taken off their site) was extremely positive. The guy gave it 3 1/2 starts on 4 and said that he could not believe how good it was. Really looking forward to seing it!

the_real_linda 10-26-2006 12:28 PM

im going to see it on wednesday.........orange wednesdays and all that.........i for on e am looking forward to it.......hope it lives up

MidgardDragon 10-27-2006 11:02 AM

Saw the midnight showing last night. Great stuff. The ending fell apart (kind of like the first one) but the whole movie was just amazing otherwise, so it gets high marks from me. 8/10

The squirm factor was upped x10 in this one, so even the toughest of gore-fanatics might want to turn away in parts. The only thing I would change is the ending, but not by much.

Nikkif8 10-27-2006 11:06 AM

I am going to see it tonight. Glad to hear one review before I do. I thought Saw II lost it on the ending too. But The tension factor and gore is what I like. I can't wait!!!

MidgardDragon 10-28-2006 12:09 AM

Time to move this to Modern Horror Movies section methinks? Anyways, the Rotten Tomatoes score dropped to 43% in one day. Not really a surprise since most critics don't know a good horror movie when it bites them in the ass (okay, I'll give them credit for liking The Descent). However, it looks like this is going to be another "fans dig it, critics hate it" fest on the review side. Ah well, I'm sure it'll still make a heap of cash, which it deserves.
