That Horrible Cat Clawed Me!
Yes, he did. His name's "Hootie." He's an old cat, one of the three that hang around the apartment building, and I let him inside and gave him some food. But I guess he gets nervous! Well, he grew up wild, and he's still not used to getting food from me...always thinks it's some sort of trick. I went to pet him while he was eating, usually it's no problem but this time he wheeled around and went WHAP! and slashed me across the face. Holy shit, what a shock! I had my glasses on and his paw kind of glanced off of them but he did get in a little nick on my face. I had to let him outside. A few hours later he was back at the door again, meowling for more food. I swear, cats is weird.

Mean kitty.
I'd tell him to go catch mice. |
He's a horrible Old Hootie cat.
Stop feeding him for a while. Make him know that you're the boss.
awwwww poor kitty lol
Hootie Cat is like a little food vampire. Actually Hootie is okay, he just had a lapse. Normally he doesn't lash out like that, but he went into feral mode and just went hiiiiiissssss SLASH! like that. I picked him up later and he was okay, a little nervous. It's been like two years I've been trying to get him to not be scared.

I would have just eaten him. Show him that when you bite the hand that feeds you, you feed the hand you bite.
Take that anyway you want............I don't really know what I just said. |
Well, that wasn't an option, because I was out of barbecue sauce that day. But really he's a good kitty, I can totally pick him up like the big fur bag he is most of the time. This is the only time in a couple of years he's gone totally wacko like that.

A lot of "older" cats get that disposition......lovey one minute and pissed off the next.
kinda like wifes:D |
Well, he grew up wild, and he's still not used to getting food from me...
That'd be why. Cats are still very close to their feral instincts, even the domesticated ones, when given the oppertunity, nearly every cat will hunt. Same thing...The wild cats are even closer. When you have a pet cat for some time, or it grows up around you, you're more than likely considered close to family, and they'll generally trust most humans to some extent, however, many are still wary of "strangers" and apprehensive. Those "immediately cuddly" cats that just love everyone are not all that common. There's no such garauntee on a cat that's grown up wild, only among it's own kind...I imagine it's very competetive out there, where protecting their food/kill could mean the difference between living healthy or starving, becoming weakened, and eventually die. Something about their former/ancestral instinct to complete predators, stays with all cats...and so much more among those who have relied only upon themselves. Which brings this up Quote:
The animal probably meant no offence, and how long you've known it, I believe in this case, is irrelevant. |
Well, he's calmer now, at any rate. But I do have some soy sauce in the cupboard just in case.
maybe he had hurt himself or something when he got u.
hey everyone's entitled to have a bad day now and then, maybe that was his :D
Here, here's a good one.......this is not Hootie, this is another cat that chews on the shrubberies outside. I think this one looks weird, he has funny big eyes and a strange relaxed expression.
looks alittle moody lol
If he were a person, he would almost certainly be a goth or a punk.
