Best Movie endings
I dunno why i'm into endings now, but, what are your favorite horror endings?
I personally liked the Hills Have Eyes remake's ending, because it was pretty realistic and not too hollywoodified. *spoiler* They didn't have the whole, "boy and girlfriend live" thing, which was good too. |
I havent seen the remake (yet), but the original Hills Have Eyes had a perfect ending. People say it was too abrupt, but I thought it was great.
Session 9 has one of the best closing lines EVER. The last shot of Hitchcock's Frenzy is great too. Maltese Falcon is amazing...Casablanca is classic (Beat ya to those ones Alky:p) More will come to me... |
Re: Best Movie endings
Milo had a good ending
|

Scream I wouldn't say it was spectacular or anything, but it's definently a good ending. Silent Hill, although really sad, was really interesting. Return could you tell me the closing line from session nine? And the abrubt ending to the hills original? |
Dr. Strangelove had the best ending ever. Absolutely perfect in every way.
|
I just watched Halloween 4....A pretty good ending for a slasher film.
|
Miike's Dead or Alive
|
Dog Soldiers
"They Think It's All Over..........It Is Now" |
Silent Hill?
I really loved Silent Hill. one of my favorite all time movies... without spoiling it I'll just say this about the ending: WTF IS WITH THE ZOOM IN ON THE BUSH!??!?!

Session 9's closing line adds a whole other way of looking at the film. The voice of the actor that delivers it (uncredited) seems to be distorted a little....turns out very, very good. Watch it. As for Hills Have Eyes....As I say, I havent seen the remake yet, but according to my friend that watched the original with me, it ends the same way only about 10 minutes sooner, leaving alot more questions. |
No one mentioned Se7en?
"AHHH CMON! Whats in the box?" Sleepaway camp goes from campy horro rflick to downright horrifying in the last 30 seconds. I thought nothing of it until then, then literally yelled "What the fuck...." the first time i saw it. |

jesus that was funny |

I forgot The Usual Suspects. I am still in awe of that movie. Notice none of my short stories even attempt a brilliant "HOLY SHIT" spin at the end... Often imitated, never duplicated. Speaking of twists, a movie that had a great end, until they threw in the second twist at the end.. identity. Great movie until the last 5 minutes. |

funny as hell .. he played all the parts - including the head in the box. |

Shouldn't be hard to find, there can't be too many(if any besides that) things he's done involving mtv.
|
:) that was good...
"Hey, Mr Tamborine man." "NOOOO!" |
id have to say the last 20 mins of jason goes to hell. hilarious bloodbath.
|
Hellraiser 2
|
Frailty...
|
great ending in a non horror movie : Alan Parker's : Birdy
its like the whole movie is a long tense slow buildup to a huge punchline .. |
Basket Case 2 for the  factor
|
The Gate, I thought it was great ending, but that was a long time ago?

Lucky Number Slevin had a great ending. If you stay through the credits, Dawn of the Dead '04 had a great ending :) |
Carpenter's The Thing as well ...
just waiting........ |
Alien Vs Predator. MAN!
That ending was sooooooooooo Cooooooooollllll!!!!!! I NEVER saw it coming. PAul Anderson is a genios. God i hate him... |
No one said Night of the Living Dead - heartbreakingly brutal
|
I agree with RU - night of the living dead was savage; i'd also have to give a nod to the ending of Texas Chainsaw (of course the original) - the insanity of it and the suddeness of the final cut was staggering.
oh, and i love the look on Loomis's face at the end of Halloween when MM has disappeared. i read that carpenter was filmed an alternate where michael is dead - thank god he went with the supernatural disappearance ending. . . classic! |
Evil dead 2

How about 'The Fly'? Either version has a pretty tragic ending...

Yah, those, plus Dr. Strangelove, JC's The Thing, Scream, The Sixth Sense, Eraserhead, and Blazing Saddles! |

God that was an amazing ending:D Planning to finally buy that in the near future...I see in the Zeller's flyer this morning that they have a 2-pack with Blazing Saddles and Caddyshack for $12 (!), hopefully I'll get down after work tomorrow. |
