I know thes ethreads come up all the time, but i wanted to start one so :p

In no particular order, my top 10:

Hallway at the end of Equilibrium
Stand-off scene in Aliens
Keith David and Roddy Piper in they live

now fo rthe new ones:
Lobby scene in the Matrix
Despite the overuse of CGI, the "100 Agent Smiths" fight in The Matrix: Reloaded
Darth Maul vs the Jedis in Phantom Menace (ray park is AMAZING)
the space dog fight in Return of the Jedi
Eric Draven vs Everybody near the end of The Crow
a tie between the last fight in Fellowship of the Ring, the Battle for Helm's Deep, and the battle for Minas Tirith. All fantastic.

I'd definitely say the fight scene in They Live between
Roddy Piper and Keith David had to be the funniest.

I love that movie.

Fin Raziel and Bavmorda in Willow. Watching old bags beat each other up is pretty fun.

The last time i watched that i laughed my ass off. The best part for me is keeping in mind that Raziel is the old lady with the dogs from A fish Called Wanda. Adds a whole new light to the fight :D


Which reminds me. the fight between Madmartigan and kale was pretty kickass. Didnt quote make the list though

The fight in the rain between Sky and Nameless was also great.
Come to think of it, ALL the fights in Hero were notable.

hands down, best ever... throw away all the epic battle scenes from every bid budget hollywood mess this movie delivers the goods w/ two guys just beating the piss out of each other.

honorable mentions:

the scene at the end of kiss of the dragon where jet li fights the two brothers

bruce lee in enter the dragon, the scene that takes place under the compound where he takes on all the guards

Conner McCleod VS the Kurgen
The bug raid were dina meyer bites it in Starship troopers.
Robocop raiding the cocaine factory then brutally fucking up Red Foreman from that 70s show :)

big scale - battle of helm's deep was amazing

small scale - death battle scene in Blade Runner

The battle against Evil in Time Bandits, and Jim Carrey kicking his own ass in Liar Liar.

Any fight of any kind in:
Gladiator
Blackhawk Down


Ridley Scott puts together amazing fights.



Cant forget
T2, t1000 vs t100 in the foundry
true lies. Pretty much all of them. Again, Jim Cameron, like Scott, is a god when it comes to fight scenes.

Rick Rossovich getting pummeled and put through a wall in the original terminator deserves an honorable mention, if for no other reason than i like watching him get beaten.

The sword fight in The Matrix Reloaded.

not really a fight scene, but trinity's motorcycle chas ein the Matrix Reloaded was unbelievably intense.

I guess the Walkers vs Squiddies in Revolutions was pretty godamn intense also.

Sean Thornton vs Red Will Danagher in John Ford's The Quiet Man.

It starts with dragging Mary Kate Danagher across a field with an old lady offering a stick "to beat the lovely lady with." The fight crosses fields and a town, turns into a 20 person free-for-all and even has an intermission in a pub.

Good times.

the fight at the end of Any which way you can. the back drop to clint and the other guy beating the shit out of each other is the Black Widows fighting the mob. Hilarious. Even better than the black widows vs the truck stop in the firstone.
