movies you hate to love

I thought of this because I am currently watching The Cube movies over again and I want to hate them, but I can't. I really enjoy them.

I also love the Rocky Horror Picture Show, it's entertaining, it makes me laught...and it has corsets...

anyways, I know there's a ton of these out there, what are a few of yours?

The_Return 05-18-2006 03:21 PM

Dark Heritage...it's a terrible, terrible movie but it's just so fun to watch.

alkytrio666 05-18-2006 05:03 PM

Hmmm...

I'm not really ashamed of any of the movies that I love...

I do love The Killer Shrews, a movie that absolutely blows in every way. But it's just so damn great.

Miss Olivia 05-18-2006 05:31 PM

Errr....alright I'll say it....I Love Troll !! I can't help it, it's goofy as hell and I know it, but Turok the Troll has had a special place in my heart since I was a little kid....I love the Troll song they sing while Professor Malcolm is reciting "The Fairy Queen"....I have the dual "Troll and Troll 2" dvd, but troll 2 is one of the dumbest damn movies I've ever seen and I hate it. I love cheesy movies but that goes too far into high-school-play territory for me.....

ItsAlive75 05-18-2006 05:36 PM

Stealth.

I dunno why, I just think it's really fun. I can call almost everything that happens in that movie, but I still like it.

Shhh...

filmmaker2 05-18-2006 09:30 PM

I think Anaconda is the best damn cheeseburger ever made.

Dante'sInferno 05-18-2006 09:32 PM

Soldier...

Tat2 05-18-2006 09:39 PM

Damn... There is so many. One that comes to mind for me though is:

Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood.

He got stoned...fuuuuuny shit! :D

_____V_____ 05-18-2006 10:57 PM

Dead Alive and Bad Taste...definitely...

AUSTIN316426808 05-19-2006 12:27 AM

Alot of Josh Lucas films...

He's been in 3 great movies and the rest of the field is littered with really bad and just ok stuff. I hate the fact that he's typecast but on the other hand, I don't know how well he would do without the 'she must be a lesbian' roles.

These are a couple of my favorite "splatterfest" movies. I love to love them!

noctuary 05-19-2006 04:29 AM

Hey, Rocky Horror is a great movie...

Anyway, the Predator movies top the list for me. I know that they're not really good movies, but I still love them. Just pure, dumb 80s action with a cool monster. Can't go wrong there.

Despare 05-19-2006 04:39 AM

Rocky Horror... good stuff.

Anyway I have a long list of these including both Resident Evil movies, Mortal Kombat, Henenlotter's stuff, Benny and Joon, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, Street Trash, The Stuff, the list goes on and on lol. Poor me...

urgeok 05-19-2006 04:55 AM

i make no excuses for the things i like ..
couldnt give a shit if they arent critically well received because the planet is populated with morons

have a nice day :D

scouse mac 05-19-2006 06:16 AM

Rocky Horror is a good shout, a young susan sarandon and annoyingly good tunes cant be argued with.

urgeok 05-19-2006 07:58 AM

and a fun homage to the old silver screen horror/sci-fi movies.

newb 05-19-2006 08:11 AM

The only two i can think of [and i know i've mentioned them a few times on this site ]
are Howard The Duck and Dreamcatcher,
which I don't think ANYBODY likes but its got aliens exploding out of peoples asses and a completely over-the-top performance by Morgan Freeman.....whats not to love?

filmmaker2 05-19-2006 01:55 PM

You shouldn't tease peopel with crazy stufff.....

you either do it, or you don't. no middle ground with that "almost" stuff

And don't forget Meatloaf...ahhh ...the singer, not the meal.

chainleen 05-20-2006 06:02 AM

Dreamcatcher would have been on my list, but I thought they really crapped out on the ending, the book was ok, but I was pissed at the movie.

but yeah, you gotta love stephen king..who else can pull off a movie with assblasters....without bringing up the Tremors sequels..heh

alkytrio666 05-20-2006 08:18 AM

I love Dreamcatcher, the movie and the book. I forgot about that one.

But, yah, Stephen King has a special little place in my heart.

The tragedy of it, he only wanted to be loved :(

Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare

This is a seriously awful movie, but man, is it ever funny!

Haunted 05-20-2006 11:13 AM

This is beautiful!! I'm so glad this thread is here at this time just so I can post what I'm about to post.

Hahahaha my mother-fuckin' friends at HDC that I love.

The movie that I hate to love right now is....

The DaVinci Code

I just saw it with my mum. It was pretty good for a movie based on a book. Hanks did a pretty good job. I was shocked right out of my seat by the fact that I was entertained.

So for all of you that haven't read the book (which I have...until I figured out the plot) and haven't seen the movie, kiss my butt.

I love you guys, though!:)

Spoorloos 05-20-2006 12:14 PM

the only movie i can think of is night of the demons, i can't stop watching it when i start.

Actually, they crapped out a few times through the show...great effect, if not a tad disgusting:p

rocky horror picture show:p :o

LOVE IT!

heebiejeebies 06-18-2006 04:57 PM

The Dead Hate the Living. Others have tried to explain to me why this is a bad movie, but I still love it and watch it over and over. In fact, I'm going to say it loud and proud: I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!:D

PR3SSUR3 06-19-2006 03:43 AM

I wouldn't say I love it, and if I did I wouldn't have a problem with loving it, but Titanic is just fine for me.

The sets, the actors, the soundtrack, the running time... I like it all - especially when it's on telly at Christmas.

oh good lord .. i didnt see that coming !

I think sometimes it's okay to go along with the Hollywood (boat) ride - their ideals, morals, perceptions... the whole whack. Even a 'king of the world' prat like James Cameron.

'Easy Cinema': turn on, tune in and switch off.

So long as there's a 'difficult' dead Granny-raping German affair without subtitles to figure out for the main course.

:D

i had a really tough time with it ..i loved the set design ....

and thats about it ..

i would have preferred a story that stuck to the survival on the sinking ship - not the big love story/bad guy junk that was thrown in .. it was just so ... top heavy - no pun intended.

nice to see david warner getting some work .. still menacing at his age - but he could do so much better..

Thats what I do as soon as that pile of shit pops up on the screen. Well that and use some language that'd make Jesus cry and ruin his birthday. But each to their own :)

PR3SSUR3 06-20-2006 04:13 AM

It's interesting how Titanic provokes such spitting reaction.

Perhaps it is because [a] it is seen as a vehicle for a handsome actor, [b] because it is a love story or [c] because it doesn't feature any violence or 'dark' rock music.

These factors will never do in a horror forum.

;)

hell no man !

some of my favorite movies are old school romantic comedies and i'm more than happy to chat about them here ..

i pity anyone (or just blame it on youth) who sticks to the horror genre alone - that would be pathetic.

Titanic was just a bloated mess for me .. i didnt approach the film not wanting to like it - i just let it happen and it really hit me the wrong way ...

i didnt have fun, or find it clever ...

i think i feel the way about it that you do about a lot of the UK stuff you feel misrepresents your part of the world ..
well - in a way - but different :p

like Miami Vice .. i know at least 3 britts who rushed out to get those boxsets (you zwoti and our old bearded pal) and absolutely dig those shows ... when i always found them to be an embarrasment.

(i did like The Sweeny though :D)

for a guy who values risk taking in film i'm suprised you liked this one at all !
