Contacts!

I got contacts today and I friggin HATE them. Ive been trying to get the damn things out of my eyes for an hour. A whole friggin hour! I swear my eyes must be deformed or something, my fingers wont fit to take them out the way I was told:mad:

ItsAlive75 03-10-2006 06:55 PM

I've always hated contacts. The idea of shoving something onto my eyeball makes me cringe.

The_Return 03-10-2006 06:58 PM

Oh, I didnt mind putting them in. Didnt bother me at all, they just sort of sucked on to my eyes. But now the little buggers wont come off:mad:

Once I get them out, there is no chance in hell they're going back in tomorrow. No chance in hell.

How bad is your vision? I chose to go with glasses, and I just never wear em', never really need to.

Marroe 03-10-2006 07:04 PM

I've worn contacts for a very long time, I used to have this issue too. Sometimes your eyes get a lil dry and they stick like a damn strong suction cup...try wetting your finger with some saline soliution, or putting some (contact approved) eyedrops in...take your finger over it and pull down..should come right out.

The_Return 03-10-2006 07:04 PM

Ive had glasses since I was 9, so I cant really see much without them. The only reason I wanted contacts was because I wanted a change in my looks...I do think I look better without glasses. However, Ill sacrifice some vanity so that I dont need to tear out my eyes every friggin night....!

I think Im going to need to take the Chien Andalou aproach if I cant get them out soon....

hmm...so is it they won't move down, or you just can't grab it and pull it out? They should move down easily if they're wet enough.

ItsAlive75 03-10-2006 07:08 PM

How much does laser eye surgery cost? That would be the ultimate right there... still pretty freaky though. I think I'm just one of those people who gets freaked out by eyes.

Yeah, it seems like a really nerve wrecking thing to prepare for...but I plan to do it in the next 2 years. My eyes have been fucked my whole life and they just keep getting worse. Right now you can get it for about $400-$500 an eye..it'll get cheaper.

Posher778 03-10-2006 07:11 PM

chill, i'm almost to my 1 year anniversary of having them, it gets easy really fast, don't worry. Jusdt never sleep in them, you pay the price...

NO! dont try and grab it while its still stuck to your eye...never try that. Take your finger and pull down, it'll scrunch up, then take it out and quicky rinse it and get it in the solution...you're gonna scratch your eye doing it that way!

Ok, thanks. Ill try that way. The way I was doing it is what the doctor told me to do though...

pretty weird doc...mine told me to grab with the pad of my finger and pull down, even made me do it in front of her..they always come right out.

Actually, that scene is alright with me. My problem is when I see any real footage, like close-ups of eyes or when little kids push their eye with their finger... its just SICK.

That's just for ONE EYE?

Wow, I need to get into that racket... I wanna buy a boat.

Marroe 03-10-2006 07:24 PM

Ya know whats cool about contacts? (This is coming from a picture nerd) You can take a close-up of your face on a good digi cam, adjust the contrast, and it looks like there's a blue lazer light around your eye.

MoonLit Meadow 03-10-2006 07:34 PM

I usually just squeeze both sides of the contact, and they pop right out.

Wow...somehow that just doesn't sound good ;) But yeah...try squeezing the sides:p

Mine made me put them in and out in front of her, too. It worked fine there, but it sure as hell isnt working now:mad:

I couldnt really get your way to work...it moved away from my eye, but it didnt "scrunch up". I tried to grab it, but it still wouldnt come off.

Ive been trying your way too Moonlit...cant seem to get that one right either:(

Ack...I really hope you're able to get them out...you definately wanna try and avoid sleeping with them in...I've accidently fallen asleep with mine a few times, and it's not fun ;)

Just keep trying to squeeze both sides of the lens...hopefully the middle will "scrunch" up and you can grab it :(

The_Return 03-10-2006 07:46 PM

No worries, there is no chance Im going to bed before I get these damn things out. The last thing I want to do is cause more pain and discomfort to my eyes...

The more I try, the more realistic my Chien Andalou jokes seems....

LOL. Well good luck...keep us posted:) Cause you know...if you fall asleep with them in...you'll probably die...but probably not, b/c like I said...I've done it a few times...your eyes will hate you for it though, I guarentee you that much ;)

Marroe 03-10-2006 07:58 PM

My way isn't working??? NO WAY! It'll work, haha...did you make sure they were wet? This is weird...it's crazy they won't scrunch. They're not hard lenses, are they?

The_Return 03-10-2006 08:06 PM

Nope, not hard lenses. Just "Hard" to get out:p

Well, I ended up waking up my dad to coach me through it, as opposed to looking in the mirror. Worked alot better that way:). By the way, it was Moonlit's method that ended up working:D

Marroe 03-10-2006 08:08 PM

Pfft...you guys just have goofy eyes then:rolleyes:

Glad they came out though:)

Yeah...That makes em REALLY stick...Makes your eyes feel dry and sore, kinda like needle prickly...

Anyway...I just pinch mine...They come right out that way...Don't need a mirror for it either...

I'm glad I don't have this problem (I wear glasses)! I've always never liked the sound of contacts. Glass-like object that goes into your eye, supposedly to help you see better. I say get glasses or get laser-eye surgery. As for me, once I get the money (and am older), I'm going to get laser-eye surgery. It may hurt like hell, but it'll probably be worth it.

Nah...They're actually more like very thin, very soft rubber...Hmm...I guess that doesn't really sound much better...

Anyway...They DO help you to see better...Perfect, in fact...

You're right. Rubber doesn't nake them sound better. And I didn't mean they didn't make you see better. Sorry if I got that point across. I guess I worded it wrong.

They're really not so bad once you get used to them. I HATED mine when I first started wearing them...b/c I could feel them when I put them in...I guess I wasn't doing it right. Now I don't even know they're there, and I can't imagine life without them. When I take them out at night, it's like the blind leading the blind. hahahahah ;)

I think one day I'll opt for laser-eye surgery too though...although, it kind of scares me...one little mistake and you're DONE ;) But...like everything else in life, I guess there's a risk involved. I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen very often though...I've known alot of people who've done it and swear by it :)

MoonLit Meadow 03-11-2006 02:58 PM

Oh, and congrats on getting them out Return. :D

Each to his/er own DUDE..:D

Em gonna pull mine out and break them
in. :D

Spallalala 03-12-2006 03:18 AM

I hated wearing contacts. They started becoming slightly painful to wear ( I think I just put them in wrong ). So I gave up with them. The way I remember taking them out was to slide them to one side of the eyeball. And then kinda grabbing it.
Annoying shit. Thats all I can say.
