Best TCM Scene!

What's your favorite? State why if you want...

NOTE - I cant change the poll but the Service Station scene INCLUDES THE POST FRANKLIN KILL CHASE!

My vote has to be the tantrum scene. This scene is so badass, I mean anyone who saw the movie and didn't like it needs to have their head checked. My avatar is actually a pic from the scene. I did like the meathook, after all it was the biggest "walker scene" and the most controversial. Oh yea and Franklin's demise was sweet. Well actually all the scenes were awesome, but the tantrum scene is the most badass.

A tie between Franklin's demise and The chase seen(after franklin gets sawed like a turkey:) )

I agree the tantrum scene is awesome but my vote goes to the meathook. Why? because the whole idea behind being hung on onee sent shivers up my spine the first time that I saw it. I thought to myself that this guy (Leatherface) is looking at her as a piece of meat not a human being. I dont recall ever seeing something like that in a movie before and I just thought that that scene was amazing. I think that I recall seeing this image on one of the original movie posters also.

I saw commentary on the film and when they were doing the tantrum scene Gunnar Hansen had told the camera man to watch out because he was afraid that he might get to close to him with the chainsaw. He also said that after filming was over it never occured to anyone to remove the chain from the saw during filming where seeing the chain on the saw wasnt necessary. Funny how that worked.

Yea actually I forgot to mention the commentary in my reasoning. The commentary is pretty hilarious about that scene. Actually a lot of the scenes were with a live chainsaw, for example (as said on the commentary) the meathook scene, when he starts starts cutting up kurk, and the scene where he cuts his leg, he really did cut through his pants into meat and there was only a little piece of metal in between the saw and his leg. Hardcore.

my FAVORITE scene of not just TCM but probably ALL HORROR, is when he stumbles into that doorway after hearing the pig sounds and leather face is standing there and he smashes his skull with that hammer. Then the body goes all crazy and Leatherface pulls him in and the best part:

SLAMS THE IRON DOOR WITH ALL HIS MIGHT AND WE HEAR THAT LONG DRONEING BASS NOTE.

Maybe its the musician in me but that was simultaniosly the most disterbing thing i had seen at that time, combined with the best use of music in a horror movie ever. I FUCKING LOVE THIS MOVIE.

Did you hear of the time when they first filmed the scene, Hansen is supposed to run out the slaughter room door and grab the girl, he said the first time he did it he banged his head on the doorjamb and knocked himself silly. He said he forgot to duck cos' he so tall. The commentary was hilarious. I agree w/Arioch also that door slamming shut was very spooky and I think that the music in the film really makes it.

Yea, lol I do remember him saying that. I also thought it was funny when he said that when he threw kurk in the room all the way after his bashed him in the head, he threw him into the wall lol and bashed his head for real.

But seriously, the low bass drone made that scene.

It was hard to choose, but I voted for the Hitchhiker scene. That scene just completely set the mood that something was definitely wrong with the direction in which they were headed.

Hitchhikers in scary movies are always very bad, bad, bad news. :)

i have to say, i'm not much for catch-&-kill chases, never have been. when i first rented this movie the check out at the video store tole me that it was bloody, i was rather suprised to see that it was not bloody in any way. the dude who played Leatherface did a pretty cool job at his character though.
