your most treasured DVD?

What DVD/DVD set is the centerpiece of your collection, your 1961 Cheval Blanc?

Zero 01-22-2006 05:40 PM

i have a signed copy of American Movie - signed by the mark bourchardt guy who is the center of the film - it gives me hope in a world that usually shits on everyone

orangestar 01-22-2006 05:40 PM

Amadeus

I'm way to lazy to go look at all the crap and extras is has on it. But it's great.

mothermold 01-22-2006 05:49 PM

right now it's Deadwood(season 1)but i'm always looking.

filmmaker2 01-22-2006 06:33 PM

I am fond of my collection of Thunderbirds DVDs.

RavageRitual 01-22-2006 06:36 PM

I Love my Donnie Darko!

The STE 01-22-2006 06:36 PM

off the top of my head, I'd have to say it's my Monty Python and the Holy Grail collector's edition, the one that looks like a book and has the film cell and screenplay in it

Despare 01-22-2006 07:43 PM

I don't know, maybe the anniversery edition of Dawn of the Dead or maybe the Sleepaway Camp red cross logo unopened. There are probably better but it's late and I'm tired. I do love the nice box sets I have though like the Holy Grail set and the Sin City recut as well as the Dawn of the Dead box set just to name a few.

zomb5150 01-22-2006 07:43 PM

My most treasured would be my "Spiderman 67 collection" It's a 6 disc collection of the old Spiderman cartoon from 1967, I love it.:)

The STE 01-22-2006 07:56 PM

Also, my Evil Dead: Book of the Dead edition that Bruce Campbell signed

DarkwingMantis 01-22-2006 08:01 PM

My Lloyd Kaufman signed Tox Box set!

The STE 01-22-2006 08:02 PM

I'd say my MST3K: The Movie DVD, but it's a homemade bootleg I burned from an mpeg on my computer. At least I've got the movie, though.

DarkwingMantis 01-22-2006 08:03 PM

Ive got it on VHS, does that count

The STE 01-22-2006 08:05 PM

meh. VHS copies are usually in full frame (the mpeg I had was from a DVD rip so it's in widescreen)

DarkwingMantis 01-22-2006 08:09 PM

SWEET!! was it ever actually released on DVD?

Long ago, yes. It's OOP now and runs about $80 on eBay (that's usually the starting bid if it's in decent condition), and it's usually considered the second most valuable DVD you can get

Angelakillsluts 01-22-2006 08:17 PM

...

Dawn of the Dead (Collector's Edition)

cheebacheeba 01-22-2006 08:28 PM

At the moment, probably Shaun of the Dead, with the crazy-ass buttload of extras, got the UK release as soon as I could on ebay, took about a month to get here, at which point it was just about being released at the movies over here.

Other than that, I HAD a dvd, which if I still had, would have made #1 on the list, no contest.
Rammstein: Live Aus Berlin.
One of the best stage shows I've EVER seen, a few nice extras, a really cool case, and the music from the era of the band that I personally like most.
I "lost" it. ASAP, I plan on getting another, and I'd reccomend it to ANYONE, 'cept little bitches.

Babygurl20 01-22-2006 10:19 PM

My most prized DVD I would have to say would be my original B&W"Night of the Living Dead"..............I went through hell to find it and "Day Of The Dead"

ShankS 01-23-2006 12:25 AM

I take care of all my DVD's, so you could say I treasure them all, no matter how much I like each one...

the most I've spent on a DVD set, would be around $132

alkytrio666 01-23-2006 03:39 AM

Yah, my collection is my pride and joy.

But my definate most prized DVD is my Humphrey Bogart Collection- a beautiful boxset featuring the greatest actor who ever lived and his four greatest movies: Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, and Key Largo.

The_Return 01-23-2006 03:49 AM

Either my Universal Monster Legacy Collections [I have Dracula, Frankenstei, and The Wolf Man], or the Looney Tunes Golden Collection, vol. 1.

I have The Wolf Man, Frankenstein and the Creature from the Black Lagoon Legacy collections, they are also among my most treasured dvds.

filmmaker2 01-23-2006 09:18 AM

I have the Creature from the Black Lagoon set, it is definitely among the most treasured. In fact I was thinking this morning of putting some of it on.

That is pure quality.

My DVD's are all precious to me but I always love Monty Pythons Holy Grail because it has an extra where lego men do the knights of the round table song. Cracks me up every time!
