Scream Trilogy

I have 'em all, and love 'em all! :D
I think this was an awesome trilogy. Scary, yet humor-laced! :P

My fave is the original, followed by the third, then the second.
But all are in range between 8-10/10 :D

Comments...?

Thorns_demon 01-16-2006 04:33 AM

They're good but not scary at all and most of the times you know what's gonna happen and stuff and that's the bad thing and I hate it that lots of movies have the same story, like chainsaw massacre same movie just other actors and a different killer, and there are more movies like this, it makes them not unique anymore oh yes the other movie was: I know what you did last summer, again same story.

I agree. #1, #3, #2.

The first one was very, very good. The third was decent. The second wasn't very good.

Dear GOD, I hope the #4 rumors aren't true.

I don't think you're aware that the entire point of making Scream was to make a movie that kind of pokes fun at movies like that (predictable, repeated horror plot, etc...) but yet be the same kind of slasher itself.

And I don't think it's anything like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Thorns_demon 01-16-2006 07:15 AM

if that was their point then it makes it even worse, movies have to be unique, not predictable, no wonder everyone fell asleep at the movies

OK, you're not getting it, so I'm not going to further try to explain the concept to you.

RavageRitual 01-16-2006 02:54 PM

I disagree, I think they get worse as the go along,

The first one was actually a pretty decent flick
The second one had its parts but overall wasnt that great
The Third I hated so much

Sick_As_Fuck 01-16-2006 07:30 PM

The OG is my favorite scary movie of all-time. I challenge anyone whom thinks it's an awful movie to give just one good reason as to why.

Thorns_demon 01-17-2006 01:03 AM

why these are bad movies hmmm because it needs more killing and more flying bodyparts around, this is a movie for teens, not for the blood and gore fans

Sick_As_Fuck 01-17-2006 12:19 PM

lol what?

urgeok 01-17-2006 02:18 PM

i enjoyed #1, cant remember a damn thing about #2, and didnt like #3 at all except for the Jay and Silent Bob appearance ..

Oooooo! Hardcooorree!

Prelude95Si 01-18-2006 08:09 AM

Scream is what got me into horror films. But when I watch them against other horror movies like TCM or the Friday movies, I just don't really care for Scream after that. Especially #3, way too much comedy. I mean common, he throws the knife at Dewy and the handel hits him in the head and knocks him out.

I liked them all and I would be curious to see what they came up with for #4,so -am not against another one.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is one of my all time favorite movies ..

I thought it was cool that they showed up on the set of scream ... a little tit for tat there.

Although Jersey Girl was an excellent film, it got lost in the bullshit surrounding Ben and J-lo ...
Kevin Smith may have to ressurect Jay and Silent Bob to propel his career forward again.
I can understand why he doesnt want to - Strikes Back was to be their swan song and it ended beautifully on that note ..
I just hope that if he does another movie where they are involved he can still find some love for the characters - and the spite doesnt show.

the ben-j-lo thing burned my ass by the way ..

i dont get why the fuck people buy into all this hollywood media bullshit anyway ... as if we know a god damn thing about these people...

if you believe what you read in enquirer or see on entertainment tonight then you're too gullible for words. it doesnt make you an authority on the character of these people.

sorry .. had a little rant here.

ItsAlive75 01-18-2006 09:50 AM

Kevin Smith will propel his career forward with Clerks 2 that's coming out soon. His movies only seem to do well financially when they're chock full of cameos.

novakru 01-18-2006 10:20 AM

I never saw Jersey Girl so I have no idea if it's a good flick, and I never agree with hollywood critics anymore seeing as how they are alot like the government now.

Urge-little rant? Very funny,always interesting - your rants:D

Clerks 2? that will be something I will have to see:cool:

hammerfan 01-18-2006 10:49 AM

Personally, I liked Jersey Girl.

i just get sick of people passing judgement on celebrities as if they know them personally ...

smacks of sour grapes ..

Kevin Smith IS resurrecting Jay and Silent Bob to propel his career again. Clerks 2 is in the works.

EDIT: Oh damn. I didn't see this 2nd page here and alk already mentioned Clerks 2. My bad.

I thought the first Scream was fresh, original, witty and an all around good time. Two and three were both shabby sequels with nonsensical and unneccesary plot twists just to make sure we couldn't guess who the killers were.

Totally agree, the two sequels were unneccessary but in their own way mimicked the endless stream pointless sequels often seen with horror franchises.

urgeok 01-19-2006 05:07 AM

its a shame how pointless money grabbing sequels can suck the life out of the origional.
the horror genre constantly suffers from this.

Interestingly, the underrated Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Next Generation flirted with the post-modern/knowing approach years before Scream so horribly made this into a cool new genre for the "next generation" of horror fans.

i knew you were gonna jump all over this one :)

i never thought of Scream(the 1st one at least) as a self satisfying smug smirking pic ..

i thought it was more of a treat for horror fans .. sort of Night of The Creeps long before it - that named all the characters after famous genre personalities.

I think it's only real failing - (and not really it's fault unless you want to consider the sequesl) was that is started a whole new wave of 80's style slasher pics which i think are the most uninteresting horror films ever made.

let me be specific : american 80's horror films.

i dont want the black glove killer fans on my ass :D

PR3SSUR3 01-19-2006 09:03 AM

For a moment there, we thought you were dissing giallos - you're right, you don't want those crazy geeks on your case...

The sight of those vacantly determined kids faces put together in montage on the front of video boxes for Scream and its derivatives still sends a shudder.

Though Urban Legend wasn't too bad.

I agree on number 2 which also had no continuity...but I think number 3 was far better than number 2

Posher778 02-06-2006 05:20 PM

i'm gonna check out scream 3 next time i'm at hollywood vid. i've only seen scream 1, and i absolutely loved that movie. my favorite part was the beginning or the scene in the car where he kept unlocking doors and she locked them fast to keep him out. that movie is extremely fresh and original.. and one part actually scared me. where sydney and the camera guy were watching the screen, and he looked at the door and it was open, and he said frickin 30 second delay!! and the killer jumped out and sliced him.

kung-fu-jesus 02-07-2006 06:30 AM

i liked the first one, the second was okay and the third was alright, the first was the best.

when scream first came out it was great, some what shocking, and when compaired to other feature horror films of the time quite brutal. wether you like it, love it, or hate it it helped breath life back into mainstream horror.

and please dont bitch thats just my opinion.

Posher778 02-08-2006 07:07 PM

i just watched 3, and i loved it! i think it was actually MORE scary than the 1st, which... of course wasnt scary, but you no what i mean. and i loved the flashback parts, like going back in the house from movie 1.

I thought 3 was by far the worse....but your entitled to your opinion. I do however agree with you on the flashbacks.

Posher778 02-08-2006 07:23 PM

well, i havent seen 2 so i can't compare it just yet. i liked the whole *spoilers*

brother thing at the end, it shows how clever the writers were. 1st is still the most amazingest =)

Viddy 02-18-2006 02:31 AM

^^ I agree.
One is still the best, followed by 3 which I liked a lot for some reason and then 2...
:)
But I loved all of 'em

Posher778 02-19-2006 08:08 PM

i think 1 actually has the most comedy, instead of 3

i crack up the entire ending of the 1st. espoecially when stu says... "did you really call the cops???" and sidney says you bet your bastard ass i called the cops" and stu says "my parents are gonnnaaa be so madddd at meeee..."

hulkamaniak 02-19-2006 08:29 PM

I love all 3 Screams also, but since some of you insist their are better movies in this genre, can you please name them

You don't think Scream has blood? have you SEEN the ending??

Darthboy 03-06-2006 06:04 PM

The original was a masterpiece and brought new life in the horror genre, just like how the first Rambo movie "First Blood" and "The Matrix" brought fresh new life into action movies and all three movies were equally taranished by their sequels.

Afterall i think the first "Scream" is a better Wes Craven flick than the ugly and terrible "Last House on The Left" but as good as his "Hills Have Eyes" and "Nightmare on Elm Street".

I agree with thorns, the ending isn't that gory:- ok stu gets stabbed, and billy gets shot a couple of times, but IMHO there's not anything interesting gore-wise.
